bleaz.com new directory, you opinion can help

Hello,
I have just finished my new directory bleaz directory . I have tried to make it is a bit different from all the directories around adding a featured and a reciprocal section. I have also added a php script that displays last 10-featured links. Also it is unique in the submission page where a lot of things are happening automatic. I would really like to hear opinions about the appearance in order to make it better (the main idea of its look came from lycos).

1. Does not look anything like Lycos. And, why would imitate Lycos when no one goes there?

2. I see nothing at Bleaz to make me return. It is just a bunch of text links.

3. Start over.

White text + dark background = not readable. Change it.

While the Lycos site uses white text boxes and dark text, which are infinitely easier to read, don't assume that what they're doing is the best way to go. There's a reason why everyone else uses white page backgrounds and less clutter. Bear in mind that sometimes, less is more.

The image-based horizontal navigation could be improved. A CSS text-based menu system would work better and be easier to update.

Your logo needs some work. It's aliased (has jagged edges).

Your page title needs some SEO work. Make the title descriptive and use a couple of targeted keywords or a keyphrase.

You have 205 links on your home page and no useful content. As I pointed out, the page is too cluttered, too busy. You need to add some RSS news feeds or something of interest to your users other than just links.

Basically looks like any other number of link farms...err, uhh, sorry, 'directories' I've seen.

Your style's a bit dated, and as was pointed out, a bit tough to read.

The page feels heavy...lighten up the colours a bit.

Give people a reason to come back.

New Directory? That's so 2003.

It's not so much the design that's aniquated, but the entire concept.

Apart from all the other comments, Dubbya's being particularly relevant, the obvious question is, what is the site about. Maybe I am thick (no comments chaps) but I really couldn't work out what your site is all about.

What is the reason to linger? What is reason to add my site (if any)?

I agree with the others about the design.

Why attempt another search engine though, when we know which one everyone uses?
