Please give me your brutal, honest review of my new site: http://www.Guitar-Resource-Guide.com

I would like to know if you see any mistakes or areas of designing that you could see me improving.

Thanks for all your help!

I'm going to be brutally honest. Your website looks fine! Nice banner image, nice simple format, good content, and general links are all in one area.

Something I would like to see is you bringing the links at the bottom of the page: "Cheap Electric Guitars, Guitar Picks, etc..." up to the top in a little menu setup.

You may want to optimize your keywords a little more. You have chosen many generic words...guitar names. To optimize you should think about how people will search for the content you provide...2 and 3 word combos: "learning about guitar" , "tuning a guitar", "understanding tabulature", etc.

I occasionally mess around with the guitar and found your site to be informative. Keep up the good work.

Default I like it!

I like it as well.
Loads fast...very nice use of white space. It is easy to use (navigation) and the colors are easy on the eye's. It looks professional too. Nice job!

Not too bad! I would change the link color away from the default blue, make navigation ease more of a priority, and I think you are there.

Default Review guitar-resource-guide.com

It's a nice, clean, uncluttered web site. Seems to have good information for those interested in the subject. One major problem though; your English is really bad. There are a lot of grammatical errors and sentence construction is not the best.

For example, you constantly use the word "you" when it should be "your". Another example on your Guitar Tuning Equipment page you say "Lo and behind..." The saying should be "Lo and behold..." Also "A built in MIC is pretty standard is you should definitely have it" That's pretty bad construction. I almost get the impression that English is not your native language. (I'm not trying to be a smart ass) In any event, I suggest that you have someone with a good command of the language review it.

Once you take care of that, you will have a pretty decent site. If you wish. you can send me file with the text on your site and I will make the corrections and send it back to you. (admin@giftsunusual.com)

Thank you all for reviewing my site! I really appreciate it!

Giftsun,

Thank you for your brutality! :) That is exactly what I was looking for. Very nice of you to offer your proof-reading skills for me, but I will have to pass.

Some of those pages where rushed and i type very fast so i don't always catch my mistakes when I'm typing...but english is my native tongue...really...i swear! :)

Thanks for your honesty, I think me going over it and checking off my mistakes will help me slow down my thought process when I type.

Thank you!

Default Your response to my review

Based on your reply you obviously can write decent English. So just take your time when doing your site. No need to rush and then have to go making a million corrections. Best of luck with your site.

You may return my brutality by reviewing my web site.

Thanks

Hey there - I'd have to agree with everyone that the look/feel is good because it's nice and clean, Easy to understand.

And as a guitar player (or wanna-be) I'd have to give you HUGE kudos on integrating photos of the processes you're describing. I'd say you could do even more of that. I don't know of many guitar sites that give nice photos of "how-to" stuff like this.

Now, if you just add a section about replacing a bridge on a steel-string acoustic guitar....

As for criticism, I'd have to say that you can improve the navigation and content organization. Definitely move (or repeat) your main navigation links at the top of the page.

Devise a system so that your visitor always knows what section they're in just by looking at the navigation, and keep the navs in the exact same place on every page.

Then, when you have any sub-sections, you can easily link to those as well. This will help you as you add more content to the site and it grows.

Keep up the good work!
