There are a few things that need fixing.

1. The orange coloured text on the white background. Possibly make it a darker orange, but at the moment it blends into the background, and those with colour blindness (which there are many) wont be able to distinguish those titles as well.

2. The animated icons are a bit of a throw back from the 90's, and distract from the page content. Is this an affiliate or just some free advertising content you have added for presentation?

3. Is the top banner part of free hosting? If so there is nothing you can do about it, but if it isnt, then I would suggest putting that further down the page.

4. In regards to your car graphics in your logo... I always find cars look so much more attractive with bright crisp pics. Check out how car manufacturers display their pics of cars.

5. I'm not sure how beach babes fit in with pics of cars, unless of course they are draped over the bonnet of one. But I presume that is a 'guy' thing that they are there for.

But otherwise, a nice informative site!

Good luck!

Tested in IE6 56k modem 800x600. A little slow to load. Slightly too wide for 800x600. I got a popup asking to install some kind of browser enhancer which I cancelled. Otherwise, a very nice design. Good luck with it.

1 I will refrain from using that shade of orange on future article titles I also swapped #FF9900 for #F00000 in the CSS

2 as fast as I filter them at the banner service .. new ones pop up 

3 it is a fastclick banner .. I can move it but needs to be in the 1st 500 pixels were do you think is best ?

4 for now I dumped the cars logo as all efforts to reduce the file size all but ruined the image quality

5 LOL believe it or not they are part of a test I’m doing from a seo stand point
One the thing I find frustrating with most dynamically generated content is title and meta management

Note the head tags and page titles

Nick

Sorry about the popup I have disabled them while I’m here asking for critiques

I’m struggling with page load speed ..And have just gutted most of the front page and reduced the graphics size as well as their design if you get a chance let me know if seems faster to you now

I know that I currently have an issue with the 800 x 600 size and will amend the size to accommodate it

Note :: I do however have a skyscraper and 468 60 banner on the pages though as their unfortunately an integral part of the site layout

-----------------------------------------------------------------

if either of you get a chance let me know what you think about this one I’m just getting started on

Nick I promise no popups :)

Matauri I will reevaluate my use of orange here as well

Thank you both for your time

ok I think that I have the 800 x 600 issue fixed hopefully the graphic at the top renders correctly in other browsers it looks ok here In ie6

www.carpixel.com

I switched from a fixed width to % and sliced the header image into pieces to accomdate the variable screen widths

Default CarPixel.com?

Hi. I read a comment last week by a member regarding another website. They said, "You need to identify what your website is about for visitors to understand within 10-15 seconds or you'll loose their interest."

I am a Car Guy (Salesman), so I looked at your site with special interest. I see nothing on the front page that tells me what I am going to get out of your website.

Is "Car Pixel" a reference to pictures? Where are the pictures? I had to hunt for a reason the be there.

My 1st impression, don't take offense.. With all those ads from Google and others, it seems like the primary mission of this website, especially with the girly photos is to profit from the ad link fees Google pays for page views with their ads.

Again, if this is the mission. Fine. I have one of those myself: UglyCouchContest.com

The design is VERY well done.

I might suggest the photos be the first page, and highlight the Car Buying Services next. The news can be an after thought for visitors.

Good luck. That's my 2 Cents worth... ô¿ô
