Default Site Updated and Expanded

Hi guys,

I found this forum absolutely invaluable whilst first developing the logo and site itself about a year ago.

(site is here http://www.fourcornersproperty.co.uk )

Since then I've added lots and lots of content for things like building extensions, and customer recommendations, and the site is doing well in the Search Engine Results Pages.

My concern now is this - as the site grows I want to keep the information manageable and navigation simple. If any of you could offer me comments on how easy you think it is to use I'd be very grateful.

Any general comments re design and layout, amount of text/images to a page are also welcome!

And of course I'll be going through a few to review myself in the spirit of the community!

Thanks in advance guys,
Darren

I think it is almost perfect.
Floor plans of the for sale properties would be helpful (PDFs).

I found it very easy to navigate.
It is very obvious how to contact you.

Thanks very much for the feedback Dave,

Good suggestion about the floorplans - I'll get busy tomorrow scanning some in so I can upload and update.

Thanks again,

Darren.

Well now, if Dave Barnes approves your site you have a winner! And his suggestions are golden!

I do, personally, find the site a little dull but I am not a UK resident and American tastes are different. But I think a little higher contrast within the photos would make them jump out a little more ...

I would consider removing the underlines from your links, ... make them a different color to show the user the links, but it will make the text more readable, I think, if you remove the underlines.

For marketing purposes, I would consider making stronger statements in your copy.

Using news or appearing as a news article is a very effective marketing technique for websites. Yours could be played up by using your heading Local Bournemouth Builder Completes Two Flats for Sale ...

And I would consider moving up 'personal recommendations' text ... that is a good marketing appeal and your "main purpose" paragraph is dull ...

Think about using headlines in your copy that grab interest ... News is good ... "the main purpose" is not ...

Our Buyers and Clients Love Us

We Love Being Recommended! Most of our buyers and customers are recommended to us by previous clients, but if you found this website by another means, let us brag a bit and tell you why our buyers love us.

You can sell a lot more on this home page ... and you'll have better conversions ...

And while you have made a good start on optimizing this page for 'local bournemouth builder" (a good choice as the KEI is better for this than your other most searched terms) you could do more to that end ... for example, you should link to your home page from subpages using your target keyword phrase as the anchor text ...

Cheers, MJ

Hi Dave -

Just to let you know we uploaded the floorplans and a link to them on the 2 bedroom flat for sale in Bournemouth page - thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the suggestions MJ - they are very much appreciated, and also to the point. Good info, ta.

Re (some of) the pictures - I did have them 'faded' or 'greyed' out so that the higher contrast versions came through on rollover. I took your comments re the images though, thought about them and now I'm taking the view that, if it's seconds I have to grab the visitor, then let's show off the more vivid images first - so I've re-worked a few in photoshop and also added more to the front page.

I was particularly interested in your comments on copy - thank you very much for that - the idea on 'our clients/customers love us because....' struck a real note with me - I will work on the copy and post back once it's uploaded - top tip thank you!

If you get a chance to look again, then your comments are more than welcome again re the images, and the copy when I've done that!

Best Regards,
Darren.
