Default Ecommerce site not converting

I need some help with this ecommerce site. The site has modest traffic, the average visit is about 3 minutes but almost no conversions.

Does anyone have any advice?

ThreeLac

Thanks in advance.

You might want to click your own link in your post.

We have identified that you have been refered here by a known or supposed spammer.

If you feel this is an error, please bypass this message and leave us a comment about the error. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you are actually doing referer spam, please note that this website/b2evolution no longer records and publishes referers. Not even legitimate ones! While we understand it was fun for you guys while it lasted, please understand our servers cannot take the load of all this cumulated spam any longer... Thank you.

Also, please note that comment/trackback submitted URLs will be tagged with rel="nofollow" in order to be ignored by search engines.
I'm getting a 403 error. That certainly would explain poor conversions

Well, since your target market is women i would orient the design more toward women. More soft and less clinical.
remember women live with this on a regular basis whether we know it or not. but I can tell you my wife wouldn;t know what candida was if you asked her.
this website assumes that people actually know what candida infection is.
I would try for a more marketable name, something that will be searched. Because your going to need alot of traffic to convert big for this product. another thing maybe is to try and hook up with a medical website and get listed under homeopathic medicine. to get some really targeted customers who are actually searching for a cure to something they have now.
I would imagine, the yeast infection thing is outta site outta mind..but when they got it they are searching the web right now.
Look for a catchy domain name....I am sure there is one that you can get...go to CTABUK Edit - contact poster by PM if you are interested in cheap hosting
and reg for $8.95 a yr.
I checked a few so it shouldn;t be hard to find a cool name.
and soften your site up a bit. put the product image in the main text window...about 200x200 or bigger so a woman can actually read the wrapper.

I think you if you get rid of the 403 spammer messege that will really help to.
Good Luck

Hi

I am looking at this solely from the sales and marketing aspect, not web design. For info on my skillset see my profile, "thebigdishman" on Getafreelancer.

The fundamentals of getting anyone to buy anything are known as the "customer transition" and are as follows:
Gain and then retain the prospective client's interest. Gain an appreciation of their needs and then supply them with information that will meet those needs. Sell the product, create a desire to buy, cover the cost and an appreciation of value for money.

People only buy if they meet four criteria: They have to have a NEED for the product, they have to WANT that particular product, they must consider it good VALUE for money, and they have to be able to AFFORD the product.

With this product NEED exists almost automatically, but you are competing with everyone from Wallmart to the corner drugstore on VALUE and AFFORDability. So you must make them WANT it enough to make the cost and payment implications a minor consideration. Yes, you need to price condition the client, ("normal price $19.95, our price $9.95"), BUT make sure you can legally justify that discount.

Your site is too fussy. The old adage KISS, "Keep it simple stupid" is as good as they get.

Don't make the client hunt for information. Make it stand out, and remember to lead the client through the customer transition.

Good luck.

1) Name in the corner - CANDIDASITE.COM - is it your company name or your URL. Are you offerieng a disease or a cure?

2) HEADLINE - CANDIDA SUFFERERS . . . (Call out your audience) and then give them your USP

3) Call to action - what do you expect them to do? There are 3 links inline 1) University Study, 2) $46.99, (above the fold) and 3) free test (below the fold) Though you can sign up for the newsletter, you are not identifying a clear path to a sales funnel. Copy should lead to an offer - requiring email capture (Use Johnson Box). Send to a buy now page. Email capture should lead to autoresponder that sends tips, advice and offers.

I think you are scamming people for the click throughs, thus the message that you get when you click the link.
