Could you give me your advice on my new return policy created from an online return policy generator?
You may return all unopened items purchased at The Organic Cream Shop within 30 days of the original delivery. We will pay the return shipping costs if the product is defective or the return is a result of our error. If the item is returned for any other reason you are responsible for the return shipping costs and may be charged a restocking fee of 10 percent. No returned merchandise will be accepted without a Return Material Authorization (RMA). We will credit you in the same manner as your original payment within 7 days of receiving the returned item. |

I'm guessing I posted this in the wrong place. Do you know of another section where I can get help with my return policy? The only place I found any information online was where I generated the return policy.

Looks pretty much like a standard return policy.
I'd bump up the restocking fee to 20% if the majority of your items sell for less than $10. I'm sure it will suffice.

Thanks Dubbya. I'll crunch my numbers to see what makes sense, but you're right 20 percent would definitely cover my costs and discourage returns. The reason I decided at first to go with 10% is I wanted to use the return policy seal from the same site. To use it you must agree to be 10% or under.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from. 10% makes perfect sense if you're selling items that cost over $100.
You should be able to find a graphic that does the trick. IMHO, the policy is the main concern, not whether or not it's backed up by some obscure website. Simply read the disclaimer at the bottom of their page and you'll see that they're not really doing anything for you anyway. They're certainly careful not to vouch for anyone displaying their logo and they tell consumers to research unfamiliar online retailers themselves. Have I missed something here? What good are they exactly? Quote:

Good point, funny I didn't see the disclaimer. I agree that a good policy is what makes the most sense...not the seal. Although, if I do decide to go with 10% I probably will still use the seal. I've also signed onto other agreements that I think are good. One is a promise to use all organic products, which I do. I think it's a good and easy way to show trust.
