Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate.

Default Critique Clientelevision.com

Having recently launched our broadband television channels at CLIENTELEVISION™ | A Service of the Legal Television Network, I would value your critique of the site and suggestions for the most effective means of spreading the word on a site that provides entertaining and informative videos for consumers and small business owners. That's the intended audience and the goal is to provide for intuitive, easy navigation and a great user experience.

I'd like feedback on the following:

1. Site design - the site theme is that of a file folder which containing information and is meant to parallel the file folder-shaped popup player that contains the videos. Are we executing this theme effectively?;

2. Logo - this is an area where I just need some better ideas than what we have up there now;

3. First Impression - would a visitor understand what this site's purpose is when first glancing at it? If not, is there anything we can do to clarify without being too verbose? I've been toying with a slogan like, "Ignorance of the Law is Not an Excuse ... Anymore". Would that be better?

4. Interactivity - I've got a comments section on the pages devoted to each video, but haven't gotten any comments as yet. How can we jumpstart this process?

5. Viral Marketing - how can we best spread the word and is there anything we can do to facilitate that?

6. Are there any things you would add to the site.

I'm aware that I need to get more textual information on the pages to enhance SEO and give some "spider food" to the search engines. We're working on that part now.

Content, content, content,

as an aphorism for SEO should be changed to

text content,text content,text content,

Pay somebody to view and comment, get your kids to comment, have a top 10, show ratings, and views

First impression: site breaks all over the place (Firefox, Mac)
Looked at your source code; it's a mess.
Tested home page code: 213 validation errors. oofa!

style sheet includes belong in the <head/> only... wow too many other things to comment on.
Get a book on how to write code and start from scratch.

Content: what's going on? looks like all of your images are video caps; where are the videos? Ahh I see, click the titles. Well it may help to make the images links to the article/video pages as well.

Whoa boy! I am on high speed DSL and am told I need a faster internet connection to view videos. Bad bad bad. Yahoo video, YouTube, MSN, Apple QuickTime movie trailers all play fine on my connection, why don't your videos? You're breaking your promise to deliver video content and you're blaming it on me.
Get a book on video compression. Start from scratch.

Why use a title like "File your Comment" then hide the form? You're really starting to annoy me now.
Get Steve Krug's book: "Don't Make Me Think" and start from scratch.

On your "Featured Experts" page, why not provide links to the videos that they are featured in? You got me interested in a particular guy, now I want to see what he has to say... do I have to hit all the videos and try the 'pot luck' method?

I think this is a great concept, but you really need to work on the usability and technical aspects of how the site functions. Spend some time having people test the site and pay attention to where they get lost. Then fix it. If you can't figure it out yourself, hire a consultant or keep pinging this forum (a lot).

good luck

The tabs at the top wrap to a second line in Safari on my Mac, so that they run into your banner ads. Not good. I agree that the logo needs revamping. I just don't understand what it is. If you are trying to help me out (I'm a small business owner), I'd appreciate a little information about what your site is all about, instead of the Google ad front and center. I'd replace that with your revised logo and please, add a tagline! A shorter, better version of "providing entertaining and informative legal videos for consumers and small business owners."

I run Firefox. And had absolutely no trouble with the site. It looked perfect.

I have to confess I spent far, far too long on your site. It really caught my attention!

To use an old saying "It does what it says on the tin."

Nicely executed site.

To promote it you could try getting on to radio talk shows in the USA, Australia and the UK.

And how about setting up a blog to promote it?

I have made some significant changes to the site design and am continuing to work on cross-browser compatibility. I'd appreciate any thoughts you may have on these modifications. Thank you, Irwin

I'm using IE and it's a mess ... I have to scroll way over to even make the site line up within my monitor ... graphics are broken and it's a very dated looking design and layout.

I have no idea what it's about at first glance ... My Cabinet Advisor? What does your tag line mean? Your tag line should expand my awareness of your purpose ...

The site does not break up in Firefox, but it still is too wide for my screen ... and I have a 19 incher set at 1024 X 768.

Best wishes, MJ

Default Just Completed Some Revisions

Hi everyone,
I just finished revising the site based on recent comments and would deeply [I mean DEEPLY] appreciate your comments ... preferably positive ones (just kidding, well maybe a little).
