I booked a domain some days back and under that I have started a blog. I would like to hear from you guys as to what you think about it so that I might improve. Criticisms are also welcome.

The colors and layout look good but I was not sure of the purpose, perhaps that is the unknown.

In my opinion there needs to be a clear statement of purpose for the blog What is the goal? Make the purpose clear and you may not have to invite followers, they might just come.

Yes, I'd have to agree. Focus. Define what your site and blog are about. I see you're trying to earn $$ with Adsense on your blog. It will help tremendously to have a focused theme.

Thanks for the reply. When I started the blog I dint target a niche. I knew I would be blogging on various aspects. Anyways, since you are more experienced than I am, I will give your suggestion a thought.

I am sorry mate thats not my sole purpose. Remember, people wont come to my blog only to click on the adsense.

That’s what I’m talking about! If the blog is to cover various topics, then make that part of the blog description. Point out the topics you know to be included and mention the possibility of other topics you might want to include.

Not only will this help the visitor understand what to expect up front but it will help the search engines know when to include your blog in a results page.

The Adsense will place ads which are relevant to your content so I think that is what yougottakickalittle was pointing out. The ads should match the topic or visitors will not click on them.

Try to think of some KEYWORDS which best describe your content and which might help people find you in a search and use those keywords in the description and place it as high up on the page as possible.

Excuse me, but I didn't say that Adsense was your sole purpose for starting your blog and your site. I'm not sure if you're fully understanding the advice folks here are trying to offer to you.

Seriously, what's with telling someone who is offering you free advice "remember, people won't come to my blog only to click on the adsense". Well, no joke, bud. I wasn't telling you they would or should.

I was trying to offer some advice about focusing your blog on a topic. People aren't going to come to hear you ramble on about nothing at all. Pick a genre, a niche, a theme. Focus on it. And if you're going to run ads, clearly you do want someone to click on them at some point. If that's the case, then focusing your topic is extremely important to getting relevant ads to serve on your page. If you don't focus in on something, you'll having nothing of interest or value for your readers and they won't return.
