Default Benoit Media NFL Guide

We're just now getting the site Benoit Media: Interactive NFL Guide out. I'd like to get some feedback on performance and especially the initial load time.

The site contains a lot of data so please post if you spot any functionality problems as well.

Thanks

Thumbs up Re: Benoit Media NFL Guide

Hi...I am on cable modem at roughly 6MB: the background image 1st appeared at 6 seconds...the football image appeared at 10 secs...and the tiny football helmets fully appeared at around 15 seconds.

The overall color scheme looks good (I like a dark bg as well). The tiny white on gray seems a bit hard to read (although I need reading glasses). It is a good thing hovering over the helmets zooms the size. It may be a good idea to add hover text over the helmets (I've played with Flash, but am not even a novice -- don't know if this can be done).

The Team Vitals page fully displays at around 4 secs. When I clicked on da' Bears team, the black "X" (to close window) was very difficult to find. The scroll bar seemed to disappear past the screen.

Now to the legalities...I know the NFL is VERY protective of their team logos, etc. I suggest adding a disclaimer at the bottom of every page stating you are no way associated with the team, blah, blah, blah...

Thanks for the reply. That's good to know that the initial upload is taking some time. After the initial download though how does the site respond?

We'll look further into defining some of the colors better and the suggestion for a tool tip on the helmets is an excellent thought and pretty easy to implement.

As far as the legalities are concerned, our client has gone to great lengths to get permission for each logo, photo and any other item that is associated with the NFL. We should be good as far as that goes.

Thanks a ton for the input.

Hi...page re-launch took around 3 secs...the helmets took around 6-7 secs.

I just noticed the back button does not appear. Probably a Flash thing. Not sure if tieing a visitor to your page navigation buttons is a good idea.

I clicked on Register/Login but the "X" button does not work. Email Benoit "X" button works.
