Hi Julie,

Great looking site - the 'by hand' water colour feel instantly gives that human-touch and the colours are happy :) It took me a second look to 'get' the body in the yogic stance, but it's nice.

I have to admit that I expected more focus on design content from seeing the name and title of the site. When I arrived at the home page I found myself wondering why yoga classes were a prominent feature. Will the image stay and the dates change? Will the image change and different items be offered? Will the image stay and other items be offered?

Also the 'events' button being the first link took me further away from the design your site promised.

The 'Divine Goddess Designs' logo would benefit from a home link. There is a home link on the right but habit drew me to click on the logo...

Staying on the homepage the 'community', 'inspiration' and 'creativity' areas led to no further action, no links to lead anywhere. Will these be activated later? What about the nav bar at the foot of the page? Is this Work in Progress?

The Products section is the first design content encountered and there's some nice stuff there - really artistic and heartfelt design, more for the ladies than for me ;) The store just needs to be a little more compact, there's just a tad too much white space in there.

The 'services' includes web design, yeah, and classes... the classes are in an art studio? That takes some lateral thought to be design, though design of sorts it is.

All in all it's a good design, its welcoming, bright and it appeals, but the yoga probably requires a place of its own - what about another site for it, that would be cool?

Default Mixed Bag of Tricks

I too like the initial feel of your site - very stylist. But I also felt that you had a mixed bag. By this I mean that you site doesn't appear to have focus. You have Yoga classes (I think), then you have products for sale, but they don't appear to be Yoga orientated. You swung way out on a limb offering web design and next I find a personal journal that features art supplies. And this is only the tip of the ice berg.

OK, so you need to decide on what your site is going to be about and focus on that. I understand that you have a lot of interests, it's just that they shouldn't all be on the same site. You should consider have multiple sites to express yourself.

I hope this was of some help to you and I hope I wasn't being to hard on you.

Default Nice feel

Julie,

You've added links to your inspirations since I last visited - cool move, it's always good to see artwork on the web. You might want to open the links in new windows...

Keep it going girl... :)

Default My Review

Ok, I am going to start in the source code..

You have too may keywords in the keyword meta tag. You should only use keywords that actually appear on the content of the page. To have other keywords is useless, and it waters down the effectiveness of the ones that you do have (that are used in your content).

The title: It's the same for every page. You need to make a new title for each page. The Words you use should also be located in your description, keywords and content.

The Description Meta tag should have no more than 250 characters.

<META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="1 Day">

The above tag doesn't work :)

Javascript: Take it out of the html and place it in a .js file

Links: You should try not to use a dropdown menu. You should use a smart design and keep the links within the HTML. This will help with rankings.

Footer: There isn't one. You should use the footer as a mini site map, for all areas of your site, plus you should have a TOS and Privacy link. At the moment, you have text for Privacy, but there's no link behind it.

Logo: It should be clickable. Most people will try to click the logo when they want to go back to the home page.

Site: The site doesn't seem to have a theme. I think you need to spend more time thinking about what you want to do with the site. If you want the site to be about many different things, then you should create various sections, and label them accordingly.
