Thumbs up Chandos Lake Property Owners Association

Just redid the site for our local cottage association...

Chandos Lake Property Owners Association

Would love a bit of feedback. Note that the page currently does NOT validate with W3C as the 'theweathernetwork' widget on the left gives me 21 errors. I'm trying to find a valid option from them still...

I had to fight a bit with some cross browser issues on the css so if anyone come across anything broken in a specific browser / OS configuration, please let me know! I'm especially interested in how it holds up on Mac and Linux. I checked IE (6 & 7), FF, Netscape, Safari (for windows).

Thanks!

I must say, this is one of the best websites I've reviewed in a while. I only have one suggestion. You might consider putting the state & more location information on the welcome page. Viewed with Firefox.

Because you asked (and I have never seen anyone ask how their site looked under Linux before)...

Quite good. The site looks the same in Firefox 2 on Ubuntu as it does in Firefox 2 on Vista, which is quite good on both. This is, of course, not counting my dislike of Iframes...

Very good.
Firefox 2 under Mac OS X.
Safari also.

Way above average for HOA sites.

specifically interested in browsers like Amaya or Konqueror .. the non-generic stuff. and not so much for this particular site but to see if the coding breaks in either of those..

I hate that iframe code also however that's how 'theweathernetwork' does it. I gotta go see if they offer an alternative.

Thanks though!

Not sure if it's just that I spent the last 8 hours with 4 kids at Wild Water Kingdom and am dehydrated and burnt to a crisp, or not... but what is HOA sites? lol

Appreciate the comments! Thanks

1. Why do you care about 0.1% of your visitors who use some "totally unknown browser"? They are used to being abused anyway.

2. HOA = Home Owners' Association

lol...
more a case of just being curious if the code works on linux, so if I'm developing a site for a client using linux I will know it works. I used quite a few things on the site that are newer to me like the Spry collapsible panel and using the clear both for the footer and the conditional html for IE.

the mac issue was a definite concern as there are a few Mac owners on the lake that I know of for sure, and when you make a site for a small group of people about 1000 (the actual cottagers on the lake) you don't want to isolate any of them if you can help it.

I really appreciate the comments, thanks!
