Default My Website

Hi

I've got a website Computer Repairs Adelaide by Your IT Tech Pty Ltd that does not seem to be generating any leads.

The website has been 'live' for approx 1 year and has approx 100 unique visitors per month - but no one bothers to contact me..

I'd like some pointers on how improve my site so that the visitors are actually keen to contact me and use the services/skills I have to offer.

I am not a 'creative type' I am an engineer...but at the moment I need to fix my website!
so I welcome advice and tips on how I can improve my chances of turning visitors into paying customers.

Thanks - in advance

Ernie

ernie.

There is nothing wrong with your website. We experts could make suggestions about improvements and we would be right. But, not one of these suggestions would fix your problem.

You need to do more OFFLINE marketing! You know: print, sky writing, billboards, yellow pages, assaulting old ladies crossing the street.

The best books on the subject are from Jay Conrad Levinson. Just surf to Amazon.com and search for the author and "Guerilla Marketing". It matters not which books you buy. Just buy 3 or 4 and read them all. Each takes about 1.5 hours and is loaded with IDEAS YOU CAN IMPLEMENT. In fact, more ideas than you can implement. This is a "good thing".

Most people who have a serious computer problem might not be able to go online. Have you tried your local classified ads?
When it comes to computer hardware, a business card in front of the prospective client will yield a better response. Try distributiing those in your local area.

"computer technician adelaide" does not show your web site in google organic search. A better ranking will bring you more traffic.

That been said, an ad in your local classifieds ads and business cards will be the best suggestion I can make.

Hi,

Thanks for the response.. I've tried advertising in the local papers and I've just ordered the yellow pages ad too...

Business cards are distributed regularly, and I have prepared and distributed flyers. I have also joined the local small business enterprise centre...

But I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

The only thing I 'can' measure is that I get approx 100 unique visits to my website per month - yet no one ever contacts me.

As the website is the only thing I am able to measure, I was hoping to improve the website in an attempt to encourage the visitors to contact me..

Make it clearer what areas you cover...even add a map graphic to show regions you cover.

Less text, more bullet points of info.

Make the phone number even more prominent, like in the top banner. Make it look like you really want them to call, call to action.

Perhaps in the client testimonials add where they are based as well to reinforce, what areas you cover and also other companies in the area might know your existing clients. (recommendation)

Get a few more photos in there...smiley people fixing computers

Make your site look like...we are the best in the area and we know what we are doing.

There are two things you need to do:

- If all you are getting is 100 unique visitors per month, then I would say start by focusing on increasing traffic to your site. Average website converts between 2-5% of their traffic. But even converting that much traffic requires some more work. Try to increase your monthly traffic to around 1000 visitors per month. Increasing traffic is best done organically with good quality content.

- Look into improving your site conversion rates to get some returns from current traffic. There are many things you can do yourself to accomplish that goal. I would Google increase site conversion rates and look for some advice.

Just a quick peek: who are you targeting? I assume your market is local, however your Site does not appear to promote this. As someone has already said, more images; the image you have on the banner looks like a stock image & has a less-than-personal feel. Make it look friendlier, & you could also incl the names of your customers beside your feedback. Where is your address/map? Have you tried Google Local/HotFrog or whoever you have over there that your local market uses? Even Adwords targeting your specific town/city may help. Do you have any prices that you could show upfront? & as someone has already said, try & make your copy more punchy: bullet point etc.
Good luck!!! I know it is all very time-consuming...

You need to market yourself locally. Increasing traffic to your site won't boost your sales figures unless that traffic is local.

In addition to the regular promotional venues of newspaper, radio and cable TV ads, you might also try bathroom ads. The "captive audience" ads often seen in rest rooms at restaurants, bars and shopping centers.

You might also consider bus bench advertising. Thousands of local residents pass by bus benches every day and it's an inexpensive method of getting your name out there, much cheaper than billboards and you can test market them in different areas to see which locations offer the best results.

Aside from those suggestions, join as many local forums as you can and be sure to put your url and catch phrase in your forum sig.
