This is my first posting and I am happy to be part of this community now.

My brother and I have developed a Product Search Engine that was designed to help merchants on their begining stages or already established ones showcase their products. I belong to a client community that uses the Monster Commerce Shopping Cart software and many, many of them are home based legitimate business and small enterprises that wish for a chance in the e-commerce race.

Showcasing their (our) products in major shopping portals is (in many cases) still out of their leagues and comparison shopping keeps them from a fair chance and PPC is out of the question due to budget issues.

Our Engine crawls their sites and indexes all data without having the owners/webmasters doing a thing. We have eliminated Data Feeds, literally they have to do virtually nothing to have all their products indexed in our database.

We have a few merchants featured in our Beta test with over 30,000 products already. It may take us some time and lots of work to spread the word about the project. Please review it and let us know of your opinions/advise.

The Design of the site is also still beta, I cannot decide on the looks yet.

Your site looks just like all the other slapped together shopping sites. Products thrown together with no structure. Your about us and sell here pages are plain and boring with little information. They also have no navigation back to the store or index. I would have no clue this was a search engine if I missed the LITTLE “Shopping Engine” banner. The site needs a purpose! You may know what the purpose is, but no one else does.

When you click on a product, it opens in the same window, which means people are leaving your site and may never find it again. You really need to work on your navigation and layout.

I didn’t even look at your SEO status because there is no reason to bring people to this site as of yet. Just my 2-cents!

Thank you for taking the time to check my project out. Please remember that the engine is just right out of the lab and i mentioned in my original post that the design is all beta/temp. I am not crazy about the looks or content either (so far).

The engine and site was coded from scratch in PHP, we created small algos and database management + we've created our own spider, the first part is 99.9 done (functionality). I will definetely improve the things you've talked about. Thanx!

If anyone would provide us with a professional opinion and advise, we will appreciate it. We are coding hard at this and we believe we can cater the large segment of merchants that use that platform. For being a 2 month old website we are getting some traffic, of course we are no Amazon.com (yet.. hehe), but any input/advise will be appreciated.
