This is a site for my high school graduating class. It is also my first design. It's purposes are to give us a place to a)share our mutual past, b) be a central contact info place, and c) share our 30-years-later lives.

thanks for your comments and suggestions. Be gentle!

I liked the cat picture a lot. Though yellow is not my favorite color, it may have been one of your school's official colors.

Default site review

Hi Cheri,

I like the idea for the site. Honestly I missed my last high school reunion because I moved etc etc and no-one knew where to find me when it came up!

The site is pretty straightforward in navigation terms which is a good start, but I found the ads page unusual. Mind you unusual can be good because my curiosity had to find out whether it was ads for class members businesses or something entirely different.

The one thing I didn't think worked so well was the colours. Yellow and green are similar colours so the green text on a bright green background on the home page was a bit much for my taste.

I would play around with the colour if you can. Maybe try with the bright yellow PAGE background, but give the table a paler yellow or even white background. That way you are keeiping what I assume are your school colours, but still making the page content less straining on the eyes.

Another thing I spotted was the font at the top of the home page was times new roman, but most of the other areas of the site were arial. I would try change it so it is all one or the other and not mix them.

Good Luck!
Tania

Thanks for the feedback, especially on how to work around the color issue.

Yes, green and gold were the colors. So I approximated. Not the prettiest combo, eh?

I'm glad you picked up on the font discrepancy, I missed that.

Re: the ads link. Yes, it is intended for classmates to post their businesses, so we achieve 2 goals: keep the MLM people from throwing their promo info into everything they contribute, and provide a little income to offset the domain reg and hosting over time. I don't expect to get more than a handful of ads. It also gives people a place to proudly announce their hobbies and avocations ...

Thanks again for the review, I really appreciate your ideas.
