This site is used to market a product range to a niche market. I have recently introduced sound to a couple of pages as a test to their value.
Any comments welcomed. Thanks.

I have to scroll right, as the image is
too large for my monitor(15")

The color scheme, green at the top is
left very close together, then red centered, then blue. I think I would try a table and 2 colors.

Default Thankyou Cornett

Your comments are welcomed.
Blue is used as link colours because of feed back from niche market viewers.
Most have limited computer savvy and blue is the recognised link colour for them.
The green wording at top is part of SEO. These relate to keywords and make it easier for search engine spiders to obtain referral information quickly and easily. (I receive numerous Google & Yahoo referrals - majority from industry viewers)
Re your screen size comments; research has shown that most of my viewers use a 17" screen and the layout fits with their configuration.
regards

Default Nice artwork

I like the paintings. They are really awesome. However the website sees hasty and does not bring out the beauty of the paintings. One has to go too many layers in to see all your cool works. Would be cool to have a bunch of thumbnail images and that open up larger.
And one design peeve is to see so much blank page at the bottom and scroll down only to see a VERY LARGE counter. Don't you have webstats that come with your hosting package? I sell hosting with a full cpanel that has lots of cool features that you may be interested in. You can contact me via the live help function at http://ejrs.com/converters
I hope you greatly succeed. Coz yr art is just fantastic. Keep up the good work.

I won't comment on the art, there are enough good things said about that.

While it is true that most people are now using a 17" monitor, it is also true that most of those people will have the resolution set at 800 x 600. Looking at a site with large text such as yours is fine on a 17" with 800 x 600 but most sites don't use a large font size and most people don't find it comfortable looking at a 17" monitor at 1024. Check your stats logs to see if resolutions stats are kept.

The layout of the coding is not very neat and looks like a nightmare to troubleshoot, modify etc. I had a look at the Homestead site and their code is the same. It looks like a coders nightmare! Also, not very search engine friendly.

Seriously, I would look at different design software and hosting. I'm in NSW, if you want to PM me and give more in-depth info.

Default website critique

Your art is fabulous, but your website does not do it justice. First, your site should have been developed with your monitor display set at 800x600. The entire site is very poorly organized, with "stuff" all over the place. The colors sort of hit me in the face at the home page...somehow they are just too bright, and they really distract from the purpose of your site. I would recommend that you develop a design with more muted colors, so your art shines forth, and stick with it throughout the entire site. Also, you should include navigational links again at the bottom of each page. An explanation of "patterns" would be nice, since I had no idea what the patterns were for. The collage of your artwork is overwhelming, and it would be fine if you would link the tiny pictures that can barely be seen to larger images, but nothing happens. It is just too large and too complex to be appreciated.
It is a shame, because you have such talent! I would rethink this site from the beginning, with careful planning, following a page design throughout the site. In that way, when the visitor goes from page to page, he/she will still know they are on your site. You might even develop a small logo, say, a teddy bear for example, to use at the top as an identifier on each page. (Just a suggestion)

The text you used at the top of the home page is a good idea, but you just have so many colors and such large text, it just sort of shouts at the visitor. Is that what you want?

You may think that there are a lot of people out on the net who have 17" monitors, but I disagree with you. Actually, I have a 17" monitor and I still had to scroll at your site.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but you are such a talented artist, I am sure if you give this all some thought you can come up with a much better web design.
