Default Can you please review this overhaul!

Hi,

my original site, http://www.tropical-sunrise.com is still live so please have a quick look at it first, then please have a look at the new CSS overhauled version at http://www[dot]tropical-sunrise[dot]com/wpwreview/index.html

(Please replace the [dot]s with . as I don't want any SEs picking up this version yet. Also, please note that the video is just one from uTube for now as we are waiting final editing of our video.)

Cheers and TIA

John

I have decided to go live with the new version of the site due to other reasons. So please, any and all constructive comments on http://www.tropical-sunrise.com are much appreciated.

Thanks

The overall layout is good . The only issue I might have is the girl on the right is a bit much. It reminds me of the "XXX" pop ups you get from some sites.

Spectur,

thanks very much for your comments. I will send out some feelers in the same industry and see if they agree. (However, I have seen plenty of material with frontal topless women on, so it may not be over the top). I appreciate the heads up on that. Thanks

Regards

John

No Problem, just remember Americans are a bit more prudish when it comes to that kind of things ( Yes I'm and American). Just design for you intended audience and you should be fine.

I like it...functionality is good...great use of CSS. I need to learn better CSS to code some things I see via WPW.

I am a Brazilian-American...which doesn't make me prudish at all!

Now to content. I didn't like the main body color for the text; the green seems a bit too light. If you are promoting "tans", I would use women with better tans than the ones you used...especially the one on upper-left. I don't know the "process" of spray tans, but I can see a wide tan line on the woman on right. Do people wear clothes in these spray-on tanning places?

Good luck!

Just thought I'd let you know that I tried accessing your site several times and it was always down when I tried to do so.

On short pages, the banner below overlaps the left column on Firefox. You might also want to add 'display: block;' to your 'li a' at your css file.

Spectur:
Yes, it is true that Americans are more prudish, but then other countries are more 'relaxed' about these sort of things than the British - not a criticism, just how it is. (Interesting to note, my hits jumped up a bit after your comment.... mostly from the states, LOL)

Getmea:
Thanks! It is my first CSS site. It is worth persevering with, even though some of the problems that arise can be quite baffling! Interesting what you say about 'green text'. I am a little colour blind and so got help with it, and it looks like an aqua/light blue on most screens. However, I was at a friends last night and we looked at the site on his laptop (appeared fine) and his PC appeared VERY green. Go figure! The top left face is supposed to be projecting 'beauty' rather than tan.... which the bottom right one is. TBH, i never noticed her tan line before, I shall probably look for another image.

FYI, women tan with bikinis, topless or nude as they wish. So the image is not 'incorrect' but I will still look for a better one.

MikeInFlorida:
Sorry about that but I cant explain it. I am not aware of down time. Try again sometime. Cheers for attempting it though.

Augustin:
I presume when you say overlap, you mean starts above the bottom of the left nav/news column rather than actually appears hiding portions of it. I had noticed that while developing it but didnt consider it an important problem. However, now things have calmed down, I shall look at rectifying that as well.

Thanks all very much, I really appreciate it. If anyone else has any comments, I am happy to hear them.

Cheers

John
