Hi
I would like to submit www.zenithinfotech.com for review. I would like pro's and seniors to review this website for look and feel', content, loading speed, clarity of images, SEO etc. I have kept the size of the website at 923 pixels wide, I agree 800 resolution will have the horizontal bar to scroll, I would like comments on this too. How many users are using 800 X 600 resolution? Isn't it time to phase it out? Right now one tab has been disabled, Search and Sitemap is in progress. Sandhya |

Tested in IE6 56k modem 800x600. The site is a little slow to load particularly the graphics. Too wide for 800x600. Otherwise, a very nice design. Good luck with it.

I think most developers will agree that 800 x 600 is still the most used res. The 17" monitor is the most popular size and I think it will be a long time until that changes, as looking at 1024 on a 17" screen is not comfortable for most people.
The design is good, nice colors, well laid out. Good to see that you've got your JS out of the head and into a linked file. Best wishes for the future. |

Hello,
win2k firefox 0.8 1024x768 dsl I think it is visually a GREAT job! It looks very clean and professional! Loaded quickly for me. The only suggestion: on the right side of the home page, the circles with the blue and white arrows in them are links, I would make the text next to them links also. I take it the other things like the "more" buttons which are not links yet is so far on purpose. Good design other than the 800x600 issue. You may want some type of keyword/phrase in your titles along with the company name.

Sandhya,
1. http://cqcounter.com/?sts,screen,,,,abooks will tell you that 40% of your visitors are using 800x600. My personal standard width is 780 pixels and my reasoning is explained at http://www.marketingtactics.com/bbx/...age_Width.html 2. I would change .text {font-family: Tahoma, MS Sans Serif, Arial, Courier; font-size:11px; font-weight:normal; color:#333333; text-decoration:none} to .text {font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:11px; font-weight:normal; color:#333333; text-decoration:none} MS Sans Serif is not generic enough and it needs to be in quotes as "MS Sans Serif" to work anyway. I personally (as an old fart) find the current text size too small in Opera 7.2 with screen resolution of 1280x1024 on my 21-inch CRT monitor. 3. It is very clean professional looking website and you should be proud of it. 4. This code on your homepage . 5. This: Zenith Infotech specializes in developing products for IT infrastructure management, security and system recovery should be between <title> and </title>. 6. Surf to http://www.fixingyourwebsite.com/drhtml.html and check your homepage. 7. Surf to http://www.holovaty.com/tools/getcontentsize/ and check your homepage. I think you need more words on your homepage, especially for Google. ,dave

Hi Sandhya,
Very nice site. The look is professional. Easy to navigate. Resolution: I agree with the others that the common and preferred resolution seems to still be 800 X 600. I'm the only one I know who prefers a much higher resolution and basically that is because I want to see as much on my screen as possible. Link Checking: I noticed the link to the Training & Support navigation doesn't appear to be linked to anything? Perhaps you knew this, but it's good practice to make sure all links work by actually going to each page and carefully checking (or hiring someone you can trust to do it). It can be a tedious job so I'd strongly suggest you get a metiticulous type to do it. I also noticed the lack of a Home button? I always want to return to the front page - that's the page I'd prefer to bookmark, plus it tends to have the main navigation which is sometimes left off the other pages. You might consider adding a Home button to your main navigation. About Us/Contact Info: You might combine these pages? If I want to get a phone number or address I look first for a link called "Contact Us" or something similar and lacking that I'll look for an "About" page. Good luck to you. You'll get lots of great suggestions by posting here. Thanks, Dave Barnes, including the links for more info. It's appreciated. Kathryn

The following text "Evaluation Copy (30 days Trial Pack)" is in your link colour, so is confusing that it is not a link, I agree that the text next to your download buttons below this should be clickable.
Great look, I especially like the small blocks of colour in the left of the section titles. |

Very nice site!!.. Extremely appealing and fast to load. Im with you on the 800x600. Sure.. its a standard res for new users and such. But come on. You can barely check a hotmail account in 800x600.
I think it looks great and extermely professional..almost due to the fact that you did not adhere to the standard. Rocking dude.

I checked out your site and the comments from everyone else seem to be right on. The site is very appealing visually and loaded quickly (dsl, approx. 104 kbps).
A link to the Home page would be good, although the first thing I try is the logo in the upper left when I don't see a link. Not all visitors to your site will know to do that. As far as screen resolution is concerned, I find the best way to test your layout is to click File>Print Preview. If your visitors are printing your pages (and if your providing the content they’re looking for, they’re printing your pages). If any of the content is cut off, it’s too wide. Approximately 680 pixels (or use a percentage width, which will automatically adjust) is the maximum for printing an 8-1/2 x 11 portrait page with 1” margins (which are the default settings for most printers, of course you can change these settings to print wider pages, good luck getting the average surfer to do that). I use a 21” monitor with the resolution set at 1600 x 1200. It’s typical to have 8 to 10 or more windows open at one time (6 to 8 of them browser windows). None of the windows are full screen, the only program I use at full screen is AutoCAD. The browser windows are approx. 800 or 900 pixels wide, so it is easy to move from one to the next. The screen resolution issue has been covered in several other threads, you may want to read some of them. Go to http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic...ghlight=#61527

A very nice looking site. One thing though (which I seem to post in every site review I do) is I have no clue what your company does from looking at the homepage. I like the graphic but it takes up so much valuable real estate that could be used to at least give an introduction to the page.

Feel main logo oversized, dominates and places text content as secondary importance. Think for overall
appearance of site, should be the same size as on all the other pages. Notice you state one link deliberately not in use pro tem - am unsure which one this refers to but I found both the "Training and Support" on main menu not to be active as well as the "more" link on first page under 'Admin Pro' as well as the "more" under 'Downloads. Apart from the above, thought the site attractive, clean, with well worded text content plus good layout and design. |

Hello everyone,
I'm a new user and here's my feedback: It's always a good practice to assign alternative text/description to pictures, especially those containing textual information. I would add a brief description of the company's business as a comment right after <body> tag for better Search engine hits. To N30: Quote:
1024 is not dividable by 800. |

"How many users are using 800 X 600 resolution? Isn't it time to phase it out?"
I know you are more interested in specifics about your site, but I wanted to respond to this. I'll try to review your site soon. It isn't time to phase out 800x600 res until your USER base is phasing it out. Remember, the entire world is not able or willing or interested in buying the best, latest, greatest or whizziest just because it is available. Oddly enough, there are still people using the low-res monitors because it works fine for them and they don't see a need to upgrade. It really is important to design for the user, not for the designer. So as long as there is a significant user base at 800x600, then it's not time to phase it out. And I understand that some of the tracking tools can capture what res a site's visitors are using, to gather some helpful data. Regards, Cheri |

Hi everybody, I have just completed the entire website, can anyone shed light on Google Search Website. I had used Google API to search my website, but since there were older files on the web server which were deleted later on.
The Search Result now includes the older files which have been deleted now. Can anyone tell me how can I flush the Google Search website. Will changing the Google API Code help me to fetch latest search from existing webpages. sandhya |

Hi,
You have a very nice website. It is clean, uncluttered, professional, fast-loading and easy to navigate. You have it well-organized, and the color scheme is pleasing and appropriate. Concerns: 1) The page is too large for my 17" monitor. When I am surfing or searching on the web, I do not expand the website screens to completely fill my entire monitor screen. Usually, I have other things I am working on, and want to be able to see the other screens that are also loaded, so that I can bring them to the forefront if needed. Because your website was so wide, I never saw your downloads until I had explored your site further. I wouldn't assume that all of your potential clients have 21" monitors or that they are surfing the web with web pages fully expanded. It is far better to construct your site with the recommended 800x600 monitor display setting so that visitors do not have to scroll horizontally. Many will not do that, and they could miss an important feature of your site. 2) I'd reduce the size of your banner heading somewhat, it is awfully large in proportion to the rest of your home page. 3) This is something I just read here at WebProWorld in the past day or two that I'd like to pass on to you: If your business is hoping to expand through the internet, you should attempt to include about 250 words of text per page, including the use of keyword phrases repeated approximately 5 times within the context of your material. This allegedly will make your site more search-engine friendly. (This means I have to go back to the drawing board, myself, and revise my web pages also.) I like your site very much, and I wish you the best of success. Nanci Nanci's Necklaces www.neckwares.com |

Continuing the 800x600 discussion:
We designed our site, and several customer sites, for both 800 and 1024 resolutions. When the visitor clicks on the link, it detects the size and delivers whichever is needed. So far this has been pretty useful. If you are interested, email me and I'll send you the details of how we did this. cheri http://www.webincome.net |

Very clean, efficient design. I like it a lot.
Only suggenstion I have is that if the download arrows on the home page had a little bevel/shadow/depth to them they might integrate a little better with the rest of the images on the page. As far as resolution goes, I still design for 800x600, but I sometimes wonder why - I haven't personally met anyone working on that resolution in years. Calgary Web Design |
