Default Review: English Education

Hi,
Can you give me some feedback on this site. I am especially interested in design critique. SEO isn't really a concern for this company.
Thanks in advance.

Purple color is not friendly. I really don't like it.

Copyright 2006 !

Clicked on the Japanese link and nothing happened.

Contact Us page lacks: phone, postal.

Privates should Private Lessons. In American English privates refers to the external genital organs.

Why is everything in bold on the homepage?

You should have photos of ALL the trainers.

Thanks for the feedback.
The logo is purple so I felt I had to go with purple. I have no control over the logo. Knowing that what would you suggest regarding the color scheme..

Thanks for the copyright thing. I'm pretty bad with when it comes to that particular thing.

Actually I didn't choose any of the text or hardly any and I am still waiting to be given some the content which is why there are some photos missing.

Privates has that meaning in pretty much every English speaking country I have been to which is most of them. I will mention it to them though. Or I could leave it for amusement value.

Everything is bold on almost every page to make it standout but that is a good point and I will probably change it.

Also there will be a second un-needed tab for english beside the Japanese tab, at the owners request and the slogan area will be changed a little too.

Anybody more design ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,

WAAAAAAY too much purple. Pick another colour to compliment it, and switch the text to a #333/#555 colour or something like that.

Lose the bold text;
I've had the issue with clients where they want EVERYTHING on the page to stand out. You can't make that happen. It's cool to use bold/strong to put emphasis on certain key words or phrases, but not everything.

The layout itself is alright. I like that there's a good amount of white space so you're not overwhelmed.

You may want to rethink the keyword choices in the meta tags...i don't think you'll be ranking too highly for 'japan'.

I will probably change the text to #333. It looks much better, thanks.
To be honest I am not too good when it comes to colors so I have no idea what compliments purple. I did look at a few colors but ...

I want to lose the bold text but to be honest even I think it looks better with the bold than without. I'll discuss it with them though.

Actually the meta tags are not important in this case as I'm not doing SEO. They are not trying to get customers from search engines.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Hi,
Well, I implemented some of the changes that were advised. It seems privates will be privates though.
I don't have all of the text although my client will probably deal with that.

So any advice apart from about content, which I have really no control over would be appreciated. Especially layout and of course if somebody has a better idea about the color scheme. While I may not not be color-blind I am surely color-impaired.

Thanks
