I wish my first ecommerce site was as good as this.
There are some points: Designwise the header right seems to have something missing. There just a large white rectangle with 'Check Out' in it. This would be an ideal place for a strapline explaining what the store is about. It is not instantly clear. The background colors - dark Blue and especially the green do not sit happily with the dark red. Userbility: You may not have too much control over this, but... - if you are hoping for people to part with $100s online, you'll need to tell them more about the products than 2 - 4 lines. And you need an enlargement of these images. - no 'home' button (yes I know the logo does it, but how many others know) - what are "fonctional ideas"? Check spelling - The email address in contact us will be a good source of spam in the near future - couldn't you use a contact form? - there's a lot a legal stuff that nobody reads, but I couldn't find what shipping charges there are. - the privacy pages states: Quote:
- the product range is very wide - from pet accessories to ash trays. This will prove a problem for SERPs - and maybe for potential customers who could be confused with what the site is actually selling...

I know Paul already said it, but the partthat I think most needs to be fixed is the item descriptions. People need to know lots of information about the items before the put down money. Also, you might want to put shipping costs in a spot where they're easy to find. Another point about navigation-- Let's say I'm looking for something for my kitchen, so I click 'kitchenware.' Then I click 'organization.' If I don't see anything in 'organization' I like, but want to browse the next 'kitchenware' category (dispensers), I have to use the go back button. Perhaps you might keep the sub categories up next to the product thumbnails. Good luck! - Tim |
