Default New Teacher Site -

Hey everybody. A couple of weeks ago I put up a new web site with teacher worksheets. It's my first attempt at a non-personal web page. It's also the first time I used wysiwyg software to make a site. (It sure seems a lot more up-to-date than anything I could ever do by typing html tags in a text editor.)

I put google adsense on it, and have made a whopping 23 cents so far.

Any constructive criticism you can provide me would be appreciated. I'm especially interested in your thoughts on ease-of-navigation, adsense placement, and amount/quality of content. Anything you can suggest that would improve hits or ad clicks would be wonderful.

Thanks very much!!
- Tim

It would be useful to put the age/grade against each worksheet and sort them by grade as well as by subject.

When a worksheet is selected, it would be better to open it in a new browser window otherwise, your navigation and site disappear completely requiring the user to hit the back button.

I would lose the adsense on the right hand side and just keep the one under your menus. That way, your content can take more of the valuable screen space.

Simple and straight forward. Well done for the type of website and the content. Obviously it will improve over time, but you are indeed off to a good start.

Age/grade... Yes, I think I'll add that back. It used to be there on the old version of the site, but I didn't put it back when I re-wrote it. Unfortunately, they're all written at about the 3rd grade level...I need more diversity in ages.

Open browser in new window-- another good idea. I need to learn to do that.

Adsense-- do you think it would take away from the profit or not? I'll take it off the homepage for awhile and see what happens.

Thanks for the good suggestions... I'll give them a try!
