Hey all,
I run our band's website at
http://www.3amfever.com and wanted a review on it.
Per the sticky, I have checked the following sites:
Check your site at
http://www.sitereportcard.com and keep tweaking until you get 'perfect' on all checks.
--> Low scores on load times, this is something I'll ask later in this post.
Check your site at
http://validator.w3.org and don't stop tweaking until your site validates. Flash insertion probably exempt(?).
-->Passed.
Check your site on
http://www.instantposition.com for the first 5 of your keywords.
-->Scored 30+
Check your site on
http://bobby.watchfire.com/bobby/html/en/index.jsp
-->Some warnings?
The first page you go to will have an animated start. This will eventually be a flash. Yes, I know flash splash pages are BAD, but I think they're more standard in the music industry. I feel like they draw in the visitor, and visitors can always skip the intro if they don't want to see it.
Mainly I want to know if the site draws you in, entices you to stay. Also, any ideas how can I fit more information above the fold? I'd like to have more smaller boxes, like a poll, fresh updates from the forum, etc. Thirdly, any ideas how I can cut down on load times? They're pretty horrendous right now, but I feel like I'd have to sacrifice visual aesthetics to achieve fast load times, and that a part of what draws people to our music.
Finally, how easy to read/use do you feel the navigation is? Thanks!
