This site has been one of my biggest solo gigs to date. There are hundreds of products, and devising the navigation scheme almost drove me insane, because I'm not familiar with the industry (automated network storage equipment).
Even though it's finished, I'm worried that visitors may get "lost." Of course, the navigation makes sense to me... but that's because I'm the designer. Any comments would be greatly appreciated... http://www.tapelibrary.com |

Thanks for the complements!
I agree: it DOES take a second for users to notice the products menu on the right. The company's other employees had the same split-second hesitation, and then were like "Oh... I see... there they are." That split-second could be costing us customers. I'm actually thinking about switching the positions of the two menus... putting the "products" menu on the left-hand side and the info menu ('about us', 'contact us', etc) on the right hand side. I think users naturally expect main nav menus to be on the left side... or the top. Thanks for the feedback. Everyone else feel free to comment too... and don't feel like you have to be polite. I welcome constructive criticism and you won't hurt my feelings. |
