Hello all,
My company’s website privatebox.co.nz has had a re-fit. But even though the previous design was very poor the site did much better. The url is: PrivateBox.co.nz My company Is a commercial mail receiving agency. Where we rent postal boxes via the internet. I am having trouble building rapport with my customers. Many customers signup but are very reluctant to go any further with purchasing their address. If you could have a look inside the members area and let me know if the usability is alright i would love to know. Cheers, Steven Morey. |

All below make no sense. You can get rid of them:
<meta name="head" content= "mail forward mail box virtual address mail anonymous virtual office mail forwarding mail Mail box mail box mailbox mailboxes rentals mailing holding mail boxs"> <meta name="revisit-after" content="2 days"> <meta name="coverage" content="Worldwide"> <meta name="copyright" content="Copyright 2004 - 2006"> You can keep this if you are seriously concerned about semantics: <meta name="Author" content="Private Box New Zealand"> Another issue. I tried to click on the navigation with JavaScript disabled and nothing happened. Where is the alternative? I saw you are not using the headers <h1>,etc properly. In every case <h1> comes always first and only once. You do not need this either: <meta http-equiv="content-Language" content="en-us"> You can add your document language straight into your html tag like this: <html lang="en-us"> Take some minutes and test your pages with my SEO Analysis Tool to check some other issues. You will get some very valuable info about your site there.

1. Use external JavaScript.
2. It is 2007, even in NZ. 3. Don't use Verdana for headings. The capital I is so ugly. 4. Your H1 color is too hot. Try #CC0033. 5. Overall. Good layout. Easy navigation. ,dave

Did you have any changes in your fee schedule at the same time as your site was updated? Without seeing your site prior to this its hard to tell if the new design has caused this problem. I am guessing that you had more conversions (upgrades) with the old site?
It looks like your main concern is getting people to upgrade to the $90 per year service. The big question that comes to my mind while browsing your site is why would I (as an individual) spend $90 per year plus postage for a private address when I can get the same basic service with a general address for a $20 set up fee (which appears to be one time)? Besides the private address, what is the benefit of paying $90 per year? Maybe it is a matter of your basic plan being underpriced combined with your upgrade plan costing too much? It seems to me that your upgraded plan would be more useful for a business (because of the 50 virtual mailboxes) than a person, however you don't appear to be targeting businesses. Who is your target? Not sure if any of this helps -- these are just the things that came to mind. Also -- I think your meta keywords tag is too long, and I don't care for the way your meta description tag is written -- it's too choppy. R

Hello there,
I have tried to use css where ever possible. The main issue is getting div tags to use columns working correctly. So I have been forced to stick with tables in certain places. I’m not sure what this has done to the load time of the main site but it you can have a look now and let me know. Cheers! Steven. |
