Default Entertainment Site Review Please

We're trying to capture three target audiences with this site. The general consumer of live music, the venue operators (nightclubs, bars, concert venues, concert promoters), and at the same time present a comfort-zone presence for corporate special events managers and booking agents.

The site address is http://www.boomersaurus.com

Thanks in advance for your help.

Default Well

At this time I only have one suggest. In the left bar, make all three drop down menus the same width.

Ron,

1. flag background is annoying.
2. Try viewing your Contact Us page using Firefox with Adblock and you will see how using Flash makes no sense.
3. Contact Us page has no postal nor phone contact data.
4. Dinosaur logo looks like it was drawn by a five-year old. You need to have a professional artist fix it.
5. This "<table border="3"" is straight out of 1996 design school. Ugly.

Thanks, neighbor...

Quotes:

1. flag background is annoying.

If you mean the tiling outside the page boundaries... I'm still thinking... If you mean the Grand Union behind Boomer in the '58 Vette, it stays. Specifically carries the message of the American 60s/British Invasion repertoire.
***

2. Try viewing your Contact Us page using Firefox with Adblock and you will see how using Flash makes no sense.

***

The flash for e-mails was a stopgap for the Java code I put in a couple of hours ago, and has now been removed.

My preference would be to use nuclear weapons against the spam crowd, but unfortunately it's against the Geneva covention or something.

3. Contact Us page has no postal nor phone contact data.

***

all better now... fixed with the e-mail code installation

4. Dinosaur logo looks like it was drawn by a five-year old. You need to have a professional artist fix it.

Boomer stays. The real marketing for a rock and roll band isn't going to happen on the web. It happens with simple limited-color line graphics that can be silkscreened rapidly and are instantly recognizable across the expanse of a darkened venue. Think red lips and tongue circa 1966. Those cheeky Brits are STILL raking in 9 figures.

5. This "<table border="3"" is straight out of 1996 design school. Ugly.

***

Took it out... hated it... put it back... only thinner.

I appreciate the advice and the time you took to respond. I've still a lot to learn. If you've done some entertainment related sites I can use for examples I'd love to take a look.

Dave,

Thanks for your advice... I worked a compromise on the logos... one set for the web and the other for SWAG items. Put up numerous changes this morning based on your advice.

Thanks again for your help,
