Thank you David for your suggestion. I took your advice and I am now downloading the three free books that are included and will read over those immediately.
Am I understanding you right, since there isn't any other comments, that there is a lot that should be taken care of? |

Hi organizer11,
The first thing to change would be the Title: Easy Home Organizing" The plain black just doesn't work. change the font, maybe add a 1px space between characters and change the font color. As I opened the homepage, the first thing that struck me was ummmm, nothing. By that I mean my browser window displayed til the text "Get Organized" If I was a surfer landing on your page, I would see nothing that atracts me further because everyone has seen google ads before and know what they are. A Google search box is not really a something to look forward to. Amber alert, translation, and O, the empty space. This is all I saw as I entered your site and is enough to make me leave. What you need to do is put something on top that will entice the surfer to come in and stay a while. Remove everything until "ORGANIZING YOUR LIFE THE EASY WAY" This should be in H1 resized through css that is and 1st thing on top. "Get Organized" in H2 smaller than H1. And then the text. Replace the google ads to the bottom,(people need a way out, give it to them) remove the Google search, if someone wants to search google, usually they go to google. Your idea is good but the page seems unorganized. Your left menu needs larger text, the on page text is big enough but the menu text is small, seems like you don't want people to use it. Keep it all a standard size and add a stylish rollover in css. Remove excessive empty spaces between paragraphs. Maybe make the paragraphs align: justify, thats a personal taste. Start with that and feel free to come back and ask again. Best |

Thank you just-trying-to-help;
I did as you said and managed to get most of it finished. I am stuck on the part about changing the title and the menu font. I have a freeweb site and there are some things that I can't change. But I did find out that I can change the template and use css (as soon as I read up on it and find out what to do). So when I learn that, I will change those things as well. By the way, you are right, I like the way it looks a lot better this way. Now I need to go in and change some of the other pages as well. Thank you for your help. If there are any other suggestions let me know, I am all ears!! Just remember, I am computer illiterate so have patience with me. Thanks again, I appreciate getting help from someone that knows what they are doing, its a blessing for us newbies. |

Wow! You have to hit the 'Page Down' button 14 times to reach the bottom. I would cut that down to no more than 2 page downs for starters, but preferably just 1 is ideal. Try to work out a layout and edit the text to where it fits in only 1 screen. I would also play with your cellpadding so your text (and Links) is/are not up against the table (use CSS).
The other responder is correct as well. There isn't much there to get me to believe (without scrolling through 14 pages of info first) that you can help me get organized... Come up with a catchy phrase or reason to get me to look into your ideas. It needs to be up front and prominent, not buried somewhere deep in the page. What separates you from the pack (your niche)? As an editor, I noticed you switch your text from center alignment, to left and vice versa. Pick one. Only one and stay with it. Use the same purple as is in the logo up top and the butterflies - why butterflies? Are they know for their organization :). Just kidding. But do not deviate from it! I would also use the same font family... you switch from Serifs to Sans Serifs... again, pick one and stay with it. I could go on and on, but I recommend signing up for this newsletter: http://www.sitepronews.com/ - It comes every day and is always a good read and reminds you constantly about upholding standards in design and whatnot... SpiderPro.com has a great short book called '100 Dos and Don'ts of Web Design'. Good luck! |

Keep it simple
Plain text: Stick to only one lettertype, and only one lettersize. Don't colour text if it isn't a link. Choose between left-justified, right-justified or centered - and keep that preference unless you have a good reason to make a local deviation. Headlines: Make sure that headlines always have the same appearance. Make sure that headlines cant be confused with quotes, highlighted text and other things. (Suggestion: present quotes in italic with empty line above and below, so they dont look like headlines...) Make it short Don't let your page run off towards eternity: your bottom is too far away from the top. Try two columns instead of one. Make menu obvious Your menu is a bit too pale. Try bold letters. Remove the frame but colour the background instead (but only slightly) Correct errors On your frontpage I noticed more than a hundred code errors. Try this site: http://validator.w3.org/ And remember always to verify your links: http://validator.w3.org/checklink Finally Keep working on the page, everything can always be improved over time. And good luck..! |

you seem to be having a lot of content out there which
could be put to good use. as mentioned above, standardize and organize the site content a little bit more.. if possible, reduce the length of, and content on, the home page. |

Many of the comments posted above are right on target. What it comes down to is you have a lot of good content the search engines will eat up, now you just need to apply some of your own organization practices to your site. Your pages are too long and need to be simplified. Stick with one theme and apply that on all your pages. I agree with "Mads Dam" and if you follow his recommendations the rest will fall into place. Also I noticed that you have all these keywords on the meta tag but most of those keywords are not used a links on your home page. These will benefit you with SEO. For example, you have the keyword "record management" (which is spelled incorrectly) but that word doesn't appear anywhere on your page. Consider that as well.
