Default Review of Scrabblads.com

Hi,

I just built my second website and I would like some honest review. I’m not a web developer so don’t be too hard on me!

http://www.scrabblads.com

Did you like the idea? Was it easy to understand? What about the site layout?

Thanks

Hi, interesting concept. Unfortunately I need to do a horizontal scroll to see the whole board. I find the pricing too high and would suggest that, before you start charging, you barter (words and links from your site for links from others) to build up PR and credibility.

Yes good idea, but people will only spend money if they know your site is seen by several thousand people, that's the tricky bit. Good luck

Default great concept

Great concept but I agree, the pricing is too high for a start-up without an established, measurable track record. If you can find ways to build credibility, it should work. You may want to make a special deal for early users to help build traffic. Perhaps a reduced rate as more users come on board, etc. How about bigger squares and a couple of alternating pages or pages that are specialized for areas of interest, for example the 'auto services' page or 'jewelry shopping'. With things targeted more specifically, it would be easier to attract users. Your home page could be mostly an introduction to ScrabbleAds with links to specific scrabble pages. It would work more like a phone directory then, a familiar metaphor to users. Hope this helps. Work on it, it could be fun!

Thanks you I will take your advice and have a free link page. I'm creating it right now!

Good suggestion, I want to keep the main board on the home page but to create specialized pages is interesting. I'll change it and repost it so you can give me your thought.

Thanks!

Ok I just added some categories and a free Scrabblads. I also reduce the board so it' doesn't scroll from left to right.

How does it sound now?

Thanks!

Looks better, loads centered on screen like it should without scrolling. Categories is a good start but needs expanding.
Keep going!
