Default Please Review My Social Planning Website - PlanJam.com

Hey everyone.

My partner and I are going to be launching our site (http://www.planjam.com)on Tuesday after a huge 5 month overhaul. We redesigned the entire site, added new features, and expanded our content by more than 10 times.

I would really appreciate it if you guys could take a look and provide some honest opinions and/or suggestions for our site. There are a few things that we have to take care of like validating all pages, clearing out shared date profiles used for testing, and some other little things.

BTW, we only cover the state of NY and CA (zip codes will be populated if you click on popular city link).

Thanks in advance for all your feedback.

Default Where is this site?

I had a look, links don't work, not everyone knows your postcodes. Shouldn't publish unfinished site.

Frankly your site is excellent. The only complaint I had was when I clicked on your web blog. I was unsure how to get back.

Yes I know I could have hit the back button many times but I frankly do not like to do this. Your links at the bottom of the web blog are tiny. They should be at both top and bottom.

Other than that, your site was fun to peruse.

Just off the top of my head, you might want to revisit the title of your site.

It doesn't seem to me that many people will be keying in "interactive local planning" if they are looking for date activities.

Also your front page is keyword poor. I'd suggest some text for the search engine bots to take back with them.

I did run a full report for you with suggestions. If you want it, send me an email.

Great design. Once the local planning is populated, it should gather lots of users.

The first thought I had was ...I don't get it.

Did you want us to comment on the IDEA or the current FUNCTIONALITY? Since there doesn't seem like much of the latter, the primary, well, "different strokes for different folks".

The second thought I had was...5 months?

When I read someone's post on your blog, I wondered where they saw your blog??? The home page did not offer a vertical scroll, so I had no idea you had a blog until I maxed the window.

awesome concept. I'll probably be returning.

In the area where you can drag your activities, I didn't immediately realize that it scrolled down to have more than 3. Maybe show just a portion (the tops) of the boxes in the next row. like add about 15 or 20px to the <div> or whatever it is... or maybe consider horizontal scrolling?

also, a place to enter number of people, to calculate the total cost more accurately. why should I have to do elementary multiplication?!

yes, it's been del.icio.us'd

I don't get it either. I did a lot of clicking and got nowhere. I ended up with a suggestion, under a search for restaurants in New York City, to fly a kite at East 10th Street and the river. Two of the main areas are still under construction. Presumably, this site is meeting a need that exists, most likely for dating.

Sorry, but I have to slag (tease) Dave on his response.

You can't rhyme jam with jam, Dave.

Suggestions for future poetic endeavors:

Thought flim flam
thought I'd scram
saw through ham...

The possiblities are endless, Dave.

You might want to try your hand at haiku.

Excellent design idea! Needs some work on the functionality though.
