Just looking at your site/blog ....
hectic is all I can say ... :(

The first thing I would personally change is the position of your adds. I’d get rid of them completely, or, if you must have them, put them in more unobtrusive spots.
At the moment they seem all over the place, and in the way ... very unorganised ...

Also, for a "Jokes and Laughter" page, the site/page is kinda boring/plain ... some jazzing up and brightening up would help the page go a long way ...
Furthermore, your top heading/logo picture doesn't quite seem to match the site/content very well. I’m not quite sure what it is meant to be or stand for, especially in relation to your site ...

And the most important thing I think you need, to get people interested, is content ... you need more stuff to keep people entertained :D
