Default Not a flash fan, but it's pretty in its way

Hi,

This took a long time to load on a 128k connection, and the interface was sluggish even after the intial wait. I'm not a Flash fan at all, or a fan of ambient techno, but you're clearly very skilled with your software and a career designing sites for Sony Playstation surely beckons.

I don't think I'm the target audience for this site.

Thanks David, we're considering separating the music from the site and making it optional. The music loading with the site is what makes the file size so large.

Thanks Again.

Default Critique

You have an excellent website design, and I enjoyed exploring your pages very much. They were a little slow-loading, which might be a problem, but it was well worth the wait. Your site is very professional and contains a lot of valuable information about your services. I am somewhat ambivalent about the music on an e-commerce site, as I understand the use of music is a "no-no." I did enjoy it, though. I just think you should give it some thought, as not everyone is at home when they view your site. They may be in an office and it could be disturbing.

This is one of the best designs I have seen here at WebProWorld!

There are some errors in the text, and I will send you an e-mail detailing them.

Please critique my website, keeping in mind that 1) we knew nothing about SEO and ranking when we decided upon the design, 2) a Links page should be added within a day or two, and I will be adding appropriate links as I can find them, and 3) the text at the bottom of the home page was added after the fact, and very quickly, so that the spiders could find the text. I will be completely redoing the text in order to add "rich content" and internal links to the home page.

We are really concerned about the java script on our site. I like the pop-up displays very much, but we are very disappointed to find that the search engine spiders will just pass right by all the descriptive information. We don't know what to do about it.

Thanks.

What can I say! Your website is visually awesome.

However, I would seriously consider getting rid of the sound and make it a bit more obvious when your visitors go over a link.

I really like flash sites, if they're done well and yours is a prime example of the latter.

Great looking site, I presume you removed the sound as the file loaded rather quickly for a Flash site, and there was no noise! Was on line in 15 seconds with 56k Dial-up.

Only fault I can see in design is the page runs long, as in having to scroll down to see what lurks at the bottom of the screen. Not a big issue granted but in applications of this nature one typically tries to put everything on the screen without scrolling, and given your utilization of a few elements therein I think it would be possible. I would presume you're likely designing at 1280 x 960 or 1024, because I'm at 1024 x 768 and I have to kill all toolbars on the page to fit it all in, and still find a scrollbar because of the posts extending down either side.

Great looking site however... Well done otherwise! Excellent utilization of Flash technologies, not overwhelming; Very tastefully done!

Good Day MM3,

Awsome site. I'm jealous. My one question when I see a site that advanced is the compatability issues that arise. Have you tested this in different browsers.

I love it!

Very nice. It did take me a while to load- even though I have an IDSL 128 it took over 50 secs. Then I needed to download software to view it. I am more of a newbie in the tech world and there are far more folks with less knowledge than I that would struggle as well. I am so impressed though with the site once I got it loaded. Some stated there was to be sound and I did not hear a thing? Had you turned it off by now? Good luck with your project.

Default Thank You

Thanks to everyone who has reviewed the site so far, we are receiving great positive feedback. We have removed the sound from loading with the site, you can now toggle it on/off by clicking on the speaker icon at the bottom left. Also the swf files have been highly optimized and are now much smaller and faster loading.

Najoba, thank you for taking the time to review the content. Changes are being made.

WWOCR, we seem to be good with compatibility. We tested with Mozilla and our stats show a variety of browsers have been navigating the site.

hupp25, I am assuming the reason it took so long to load is because you did not have the flash plugin. The music was removed by then so it should have been quicker.

Again, thanks to everyone who reviewed the site. Feel free to keep posting reviews, this is a very beneficial process for us.
