Default Please take a peek at my first ever site...

Hi there

Thanks for all the advice everyone has given so far. Our site is an osCommmerce derivative, but I've modified it with a few additional features of my own.

Of course I'd be delighted with any advice at all, but in particular I'm wondering whether or not you think the videos we have made for each product add value to the shopping experience or not.

Please take a look at:

Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks again.

Nick

I like your products. Here are somethings I would do if it was my site:

1. Search should be in top right.
2. Remove flashing new gif. Make it non-flash.
3. On product pages the title and the price are underlined. On the web, links are underlined...but these are not links. Confusing.
4. The product page asked me to download a plugin. I ignored it. This should be optional to start watching a video.
5. Do you need the currency converter? I don't know anyone who uses this.
6. Do you need the affiliate login in the middle of the page? Why not put it at the bottom and use that area for customer links.
7. About us? Can you tell me more about you? Couldn't find it.
8. Physical address? Phone number? Can I trust a site without those?
9. The news on the homepage is in some frame. Most users will ignore this and not scroll vertcally and horizontially to read it. Why not just put this content on the page. Or put a teaser on the page and click to read more.
10. Links should be underlined.

I hope this helpful. You have great products which is most important. Just a little more work and the site will be great.

Good luck.

Cute site, however it is right the people doesnt like to scroll so if you could make it a flash scrolling on your News it would be nice ... and on your contact page ... i hope you would put your email so that the visitors have an option to email you using their mail or just put it in the form you have given :D

check if your site's template would fit in 800x600 resolution ... try browsercam.com

Thanks jeffposaka for taking the time to answer.

I have implemented most of your suggestions. Your issue No.9 about the news frame is a difficult one to resolve. I take your point and realise I should do something about it.

It's actually an I-Frame, but I can't get it to get rid of the horizontal scrollbar. The 'Latest News' content will always grow, which is why I don't want to put it on the main body of the page, because it will just stretch the page further and further down over time, which I want to avoid.

I'll look into alternatives over the next couple of days.

Apologies for the delay in the reply - we've just had a military coup happen here!

Nick
