Default Completely new to web design,Check out my site

Hello All,

As my subject states I am completely new to webdesign so I am not totally versed on all of the does and dont's of it all. In fact I was teaching myself how to use Dreamweaver while I was making my pages.
I am new to public critique in fact I value it more than I do crticism by people I know. So... Be Brutally honest , I can take it.

Thanks alot,
Gabe Seright

Visually - great looking site. You obviously have talent. But the problem with building sites with dreamweaver over hand coding is all the extra stuff that gets chucked in. Have a read of the SEO forum and you'll see that your site has it all wrong in terms of gaining visibilty and search engine positions. You need content, lots of words specific to your business on the index page and lose as much of the superfluous code as you can. Most things Javascript can do you can also do with CSS which can then be posted in a separate file. The spiders will then find your content more easily and it will be more prominent. Then just get link after link after link... well you get the idea!

Hey,

Design wise, I think it is pretty awesome. THe blue links on (Contact) etc... are difficult to see on the blue background.

The design is great. As mentioned above, if you want to get new customers through the search engines you will need to add more html text.

Try looking at your site in Firefox then not loading the images. When you refresh the site, you wont see anything except the bottom menu. This is what the search engines see when they visit your site, they cannot read images. Because there is no text, except on the About Me page, the search engines wont know what your site is about or the services you offer.

I recommend doing a quick redesign so that you have at least a paragraph or two on each page in regular html text.

Good luck!

Default WOW...I had no idea

Thanks for all the great feedback, everyone.
As I said, I am new to Design, I usually stick to Graphics. I have absolutely no head for coding. I have seen friends of mine doing it and I have to tell you, I got a headache just watching.
I can see that I have a lot more reading to do until my site is perfect.

Thanks again,

Gabe

It's very Pretty - but as commented you are missing some text

Things like
alt tags on images
the portfolio uses javascript to open popup windows - with do really links
describing what the portfolio pictures are
Adding content on the services page
- eg a link to Bitmap to vector logo conversion description page

Also the ie image toolbar appears add
<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no"/>

to the hrad to remove it

Nice site though
