The site is really nice, it gives a feel of high tech and cutting edge products. On the specials page (http://eyespyli.com/2006%20specials.htm) I would be looking for the regular prices as well as the special price. And the lower products names are in blue with underlining so it looks clickable but is not. All the rest of your blue underlined text is clickable, so the continuity is lost here.

It takes a little while to load, although it's worth it. I like the music. The header is nicely done but it is a bit "blurred." I think it has been saved as .jpg so some of the quality was lost.

Nice to see you.

After entering your index, I saw the splash screen and hit the Back Button(sorry, reflex), then realized you were interested in a review so I continued.
I have a question for you Michael, have you ever searched Google with a popular search term and landed on a splash page in the results? Me neither.

You may want to re-consider the splash page.

I never really liked flash headers as they are too heavy and BIG. Remember, there are still people using dial-up connections so you could be losing sales as they are waiting too long for the flash to load.
You have to think, what's the use in having a flashy site if no one sees it.

You may want to re-think making your header a pic and shrink to half size to keep the size down.

The bulk of the content section is nice, your content pages are missing valuable spider food, text...A more detailed description would be worthwhile.

My spider took quite a while going through your server, something was lagging. Could be the large quantity of pictures...

Also, you may want to fix these.

Thank you for your input. I know your right about the into page, but we are having a hard time getting rid of it (our FP person starts crying every time we try)

In addition, we are working on getting the links fixed.

The site looks nice. Here are somethings I would change if it is my site.

1. Do not underline text unless it is a link. It is confusing. Links are underlined on the web.

2. I want to see a detailed photo of the products.

3. I agree that the splash page is cool, but it will not help you sell more camera equipment. It is bad for search engine rankings and it is bad for usability.

4. When I added a lense to my cart I got to a page with a huge USA map and a flashing blue image that said "Checkout Now". How about text links that are underlined? Why use images that take more time to load (AND COST YOU BANDWIDTH) when a text link (underlined) will do? Or at least an image that is different that the background color of the site?

5. When I clicked "Checkout Now" image, I went to a page that asked me to retype all the product codes in? Why do this? Why put up road blocks for your customers?

Take some time to look at Amazon's checkout process. They spent millions refining and testing the process so they would not drop (or confuse) customers while still gathering all the info to fulfill the order correctly.
