i'm interested in finding collaborative programming and SEO strateies on a forum like this, full of intelligent and experienced web people. let me explain what i'm trying to set up and show you the beginings of my control panel. its still in design mode and hosted by a busy ISP (shared server). eventually this should move to a dedicated t1 server.

my commerce intentions are to create a community portal designed sort of like myspace, but without the friends aspect. the focus is on events. people can create event listings and then sell tickets to the events. they can also create service listings and bill clients using the invoice manager. using our merchant gateway, we would pass the buck to the seller and only take 4 percent. 2.3-2.5 percent is about the merchat fee, so we would take about 1.5 percent of sales after that. not quite as low as paypal of course but paypal payments could be supported for those who choose this option.

the other source of income is from direct local webbased adversiting- i havent figured out a solid plan for this but certainly using a zip code database such as the myzipdb.com software.

i'm looking for event-friendly people to help me develop the infrastructure to this site, preferable exerienced in php5/sql. i would really like peoples input before i start coding it myself. this is my first php project and i am thinking BIG. i think its a great niche and idea, and with the right team it may work. so if you have enough suggestions and like the idea, i am looking for partnership involvements in the development of this idea.
