Hello leenoble,

The first thing you need to do is fix your logo. It looks pixelated and jagged. Your logo represents your company so you want to make a good impression.

The color scheme of the site needs some adjustment. The site doesn't match the logo. The green from the logo and that of the banners clash. Also, the bg color needs to go. Utillize white space more. This will make a little less obvious that the colors don't mesh well.

I like the navigation. From the links I've checked it seems to be consistent.

Take these into consideration on your next site.

Hello,
I believe that you are on the right track for your business products. I have just a few suggestions. Move your blinking boxes down below the main body of text, they are distracting and make reading diffulcult. The welcome box would be better used with a rotating slideshow of your most important products with a link from each image to their respective information page. You might take a look at some quality business templates with matching navigation buttons that are available for your new revamped web site.

Hi GSO

Sorry for not replying sooner to your feedback. This was no reflection on the feedback you gave, just the first chance i've had to see it!

Thanks ever so much. Your comments ring very true! The logo definately needs smoothing and i like your idea about the welcome bar becoming an animated link to relevant product pages. The GIFS are a little distracting so new methods of showing offer products will be tried!

Thanks for your feedback. I hope to recieve opinions form a view others before we determine which way we will take it.

In return I had a quick look at your site and was very impressed with the volume of content, the home page set up and the menu buttons on the homepage.

Thanks again!

Hello Lee Noble,
I took another look at your site and I really like the changes. Your homepage is very attractive now. I have one suggestions to make, take the "go to checkout" link off your homepage. I appreciate your kind words regarding my site. Good luck with your future endeavors.

Hi again everyone!

Following feedback from you all we have made one or two "ahem" minor adjustments to www.shop-equip.com , OK, maybe more of a major overhaul than minor adjustments, but you know what its like!

Having acquired new skills to the company, (Cheers to Gary the designer and John the programmer) We have changed our site completely using mainly OS products and many, many hours.

I would REALLY appreciate feedback, comments and suggestions on all elements of our new website including;
Design
Layout
Navigation
Ease of use
Information
SEO
Marketing methods
...as well as other important aspects of trading online, as I am committed to increasing the satisfaction of our visitors and customers developing our online sales. I understand this list is not exhaustive!

I would personally (for what it is worth) reciprocate reviews with anyone kind enough to review www.shop-equip.com

Looking forward to hearing all of your comments

Many thanks and best Regards

So.... this is the new one (sorry, seeng this for the first time)?
Well, kudos to John the programmer. Gary the designer obviously needs more skills.

My approach to any website - it should look like one piece, not like a bunch of building blocks left on a floor by a two-year-old. Right now it looks a bunch of boxes. Very strange choice of colors. Header - the welcome image looks like an outside banner (weird). The layout won't fit into 600x800.
It's OK content/functionality-wise, but you need to create a new template and blend it all together.

Default Where to start?

Sorry for the scathing critique, but....

Much, much, too much clutter. Get rid for the animation. Color scheme is distracting. Starting at the "Retail Furniture" link across the top, going from top to bottom, the page is cut off in my browser. Take the left column out and move everything left. You could put the navigation from this area, left to right, on top of the banner.

Sitemap should be a text link. Moving the left navigation to the top will also solve the problem of not having the sitemap high enough on the page.

Also, why do you want to take valued traffic off your site with a web search? Not needed.
Same thing with the "Recommended Links" link.

Hope that this helps...

Hi guys,

just wanted to take time to respond to your comments and suggestions. As I said ALL feedback is appreciated!

Well, kudos to John the programmer. Gary the designer obviously needs more skills.
I'll have to see if i can get a copy of our previous site online, hopefully then you can see the improvements that have been made. I'm sure John will be pleased of his recognition, however i feel it only fair to point out that Gary is an experienced print designer working with our suggestions.
The green colour scheme is something that we inherited from the established bricks and mortar business, and is here to stay [unfortunately!]

paulchri:
I was hoping to provoke some honest feedback, so no need to apologise. If that is your opinion, then that is what i asked for!
Clutter: On the home page?
Animation: Kinda see what your saying, how else would you suggest we promote such offers?
Cut off pages: Nice suggestion for change of layout. That is perhaps something we can have a look at.
Our pages are made for 1024x768 as this is what the majority of our visitors use.
Sitemap: is shown in the left hand nav AND also as a text link in the footer
Search & Links: Understand your point with the offsite search, but we were aiming to offer our visitors the chance for more related information with the offsite links.

DIRTYDISCO: what is an expert? your comments on colours are apprecitated, and i guess i would have to agree.

Looks like we're back to the drawing board for a while and we'll let you know how we get on.
if there's anything else, please do let me know

As i said, all feedback is appreciated, and i will reciprocate any reviews. For those of you that have helped me in this forum, let me know where you want my thoughts on your site posting

thanks again!

Default i already looked

Browser=firefox
Loading Quick load smooth operation.
Gifs a bit sudden -scary for the nervous.

Lots of yellows and reds - I would put more white in it .
You are not running a pound shop. Your logo is OK but slightly at odds with the other typography. You dont need to shout at your customers ( or do you?)
Tone down the raucous colours - a little more black and white. Dont go too pharmacuetical packaging though.
