Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate.

Default Two questions

First, is it okay to post a site that is hosted free? Or is everyone going to be annoyed because of all the darn ads?

Second question:
Using Tim's thread on what to do before submitting a site for review (a great help!), SiteReportCard is reporting one broken link. When I click on that link, it opens the page it's supposed to open. It is a link to another site, does that make a difference?

My code to that link is:

<td width="25%" align="center">
<A href="http://www.rentors.org/calendar.cfm?pid=36538"><font face="President"><font color="006600">[b]
Availability Calendar</a></font>
</td>

As you can see, very basic. Well, basic is all I know anyway. But I can't figure out why it's coming up as a broken link. I did the test several times yesterday and again tonight.
Any clues?

Hi,

Sorry, that link seems to load okay in my browser - maybe Site Card just doesn't like 'dynamic' urls.

A quick Q - what operates the calendars on your webpage? Would be interested to know as I've been looking for something similar myself.

Regards,
Darren.

Hi Darren!

Thank you for checking on this for me!

Yes, it seems to work for me too, that's why I'm confused. I don't think it's a matter of dynamic links, as it's not reporting errors on other dynamic links that I have.

You can get a calendar by going to www.rentors.org and sign up. It's free. The login will enable you to update your calendar. It simple, seems to always work, and a lot of vacation rental directories can link to it.

Hey,

k, my thoughts on free hosting, is annoyance. Ads are just plain annoying. It really doesn't cost much to get a basic hosting package, which will ad much credibility to your site.

Secondly, regarding site report card...i don't think it's possible to score perfect, so don't worry about...it's just to help you catch some of the major no-nos'.
