Would someone be so kind as to review my site? I would gladly reciprocate with my ideas of your site. Thank you very much!

Thanks for the inpu! I am going to re-align the third-party links to the very bottom of the index page. Also, the resolution is set to 1280 x 1024, as that is best for the graphics work I do. I found out, though, that if I made the text much smaller, many people were having a hard time reading the links, which is a big pet peeve of mine. If I can't read them, I have to assume that others will have the same trouble.
I design counted cross-stitch charts and patterns; this is a form of needlework which is very popular. I visited your site, and I am very impressed - I love when things are creative by hand (hence, what I do!) and although I am severly allergic to pine anything (Pine Sol will send me into asthmatic attacks!) I have a great love and respect for all those who create with their hands. I would move any and all "About..." type information to a separate page, so that people can see what is pertinent without having to scroll and hunt for company info. A former professional musician, huh? I played keyboards and did lead/backup vocals for over 30 years in the Cleveland, OH area! |

for one thing your front page is full of useless information and it is not at all obviouse as to how you enter the site. Two your main page is very difficult to read. Both the left and right side i had to scroll to be able to read. That isn't very user friendly. Lastly the colored scroll bar on the right is anouying and confusing. Your better off with a standard color that people are used to.

Another player huh? Hey, there are a few of us on this forum. Check out minstrel's posts. Yeah, a few of us did that thing. It sounds like the moves you will make on your site should help. I'm sure when you develop your patterns that the higher resolution is essential. But, you must remember that when you are presenting your products, many consumers still use lower resolutions when viewing your site. Good Luck and stay in touch with the forum. By the way, is this hand sewing or using machines? I have an account which deals with sewing, http://www.sewandvacdirect.com

That was a bad start to your index page coz you would lose everyone faster than they got in. Please remember that with websites it is the opposite of printed material. On a website, images should compliment pics ... not the other way around. Seriously you want to drop everything else but your logo on the index and write some serious copy of what it is you are selling and what your company is about. Otherwise your customers WILL walk away. We can't have that now can we?
Next issue is frames... bad idea. frames are not search engine friendly! Meta Keywords: You use CROSS STITCH too many times. use it once and use other words. you need to cut off half of them. just too many to be effective. I hope you greatly succeed with your site. God bless. |
