Hey everyone,
I could really use a leg up on any suggestions for the site.
Please have a look and let me know.
Thanks!

Tested in IE6 56k modem 800x600. Seems a bit slow to load. Too wide for 800x600. Might be nice if the links at the bottom of the page changed colour when the mouse is passed over them. Otherwise, a very nice design. Good luck with it.

Thank you very much for your input!
Was the whole site too wide for your 800x600, or just the home page? The site takes time to load the "thawte secure seal" that is at the bottom. Is that what was holding you up?
As for the links changing colour, which would you reccommend? Do you have a favourite?
Thanks for the reply m8.

IE6/Win2k - looks fine here...fits on all res's [800x600 upwards]...but you need to set a background colour.

Clean site; loads well for me. The only things I would suggest are to use a higher quality (and this is strictly personal preference) logo and graphic images. Specifically the logo, while cute, lends a lot to be desired when looking for a professional retail outlet. A good designer could take that image to the next level. As well as the always good deals image in the header.

Other than that, a clean professional site. Will work well for it purpose.

Best of luck.

Why do you suggest a background colour? Is the colour now not sufficient? Please elaborate on your suggestions.
Thanks!

Thanks for your post as well, ghst...
We are in process of actually shooting all of the blankets, and you can see some of them in the cartoon section.
As for the logo, I created that when we were just going to be doing cartoon themed blankets, as I thought it would be fitting.
Do you or anyone have any suggestions for a new logo?
Let me know, please.
Thanks!
Tim
PS, the site is down tonight :( I forgot to plug the KVM leads into the server when we moved to the new colo, and I VNC'd into it tonight to add live chat, and when I restarted it it stayed down.
That is such a bummer, but it will be back up tomorrow.
Thanks all for your comments, please keep them coming!

Dax mentioned the background color because some browsers (Netscape) don't use white as a default background color. They use grey. By setting your background color either in the body tag, or in a css file, insures that that is the color everyone will see regardless of browser type.

We just had a logo design contest for FX Studios. You could talk with Brittany about doing one for you if you would like.

Best of luck.

Well, lets have it. We'll throw a logo design contest, and the winner will get $100.00 to thier paypal account. We need people to creatively design us a logo for http://www.blanketmall.com and if you win, we'll give you $100!
Hows that?

page load is a bit much, otherwise a plain but functional website.

Sounds great to me. I would still run it by Brittany as she "IS" the editor and "Main Gal" around here.

Default review and comments on home page

Hi Tim
Your site is clean, easy to navigate and professional. I think your home page needs some work though as it doesn't work as well as the rest of the site. I don't think you need such large images on the home page. A simple thumbnail for each category of blanket with a few workds of description and a link would be heaps better. As it is now, it is too wide for a standard screen, the text is difficult to read as it is squashed into a narrow column and I feel a bit overwhelmed as I can't suss out exactly what to expect on the site with a quick glance. This shouldn't be hard to do and then it would be much more inviting. Good luck.
Janet
