We are working at an "Expats in Italy" website in 10 languages. It allows to describe any of the 8100 Italian Municipalities. Internal search engine lets you do Member searches by nationality.
What could we add to the site ? Thanks, Gabriel

Per un corretto funzionamento di questo sito deve essere abilitato Javascript, e per una migliore visualizzazione, si consiglia una
risoluzione 800x600 e Microsoft Explorer 5 o piu' recente

I can't read the above when it is on your site. That is really bad for a home page to have something people can't read as it will stop the person from reading the rest.

The moving banner takes teh attention away from your site. As it is there is no text for anyone to read. Even search engines need the text in order to list properly..

I clicked on a total of 6 pages and could find no info. People need textual information not visuals.
Visuals need to compliment the text, not the other way around.

I hope you will prosper thru the site.

I would get rid of the moving text at the top of the page and the moving globe at the bottom of the page.

When I went into the site I got a map I clicked on that map got another map clicked on it and got a blank page.

No text anywhere. Not sure what the purpose of the site is or why you need it in different languages if there is no text

Salve!
As has been said in the first replies you got, your first page doesn't clearly state what it is all about... Therefore search engines won't know either.
Once you will have added some text on this homepage, you may want to remove the animations, as suggested by Janeth. Trust her, she is of good advice!
What I would do as well is bring to the bottom of the page al the 4 cells you have in the upper right corner (copyright, created by, hosted by, and the blurb on what resolution to use). Insert some real text here instead, it will be more appealing and interesting...
Then, the drop down menu boxes in the upper left part of your top menu bar are not visible enough... Maybe there is a way to make them more obvious and visible?
"Expats" need some very specific assistance/information: where to find a house, where to meet co-nationals (other than at the embassy...), a few legal advice, so you may need to add a section on this, and so on... The touristic speach, although interesting, may not be the prior thing an expat will be looking for...
All the information to be found on your site should be mentionned and directly accessible from the home page. If I'm looking for some information on what wine cellars have to be visited in Tuscany, for instance, I should find a link to Tuscany on the homepage (I know, not everybody likes red wine, that's just an example... it can be changed to "where to find a school for my kids who can't speak a word of Italian...")
And last, if you want your site to be offered in ten languages, please make sure to have your pages translated by a native speaker... I am French (no comments...) and I can tell you that the person who translated your site isn't...
Sorry if I've been too long on that message!
All the best,
Alain
