Golfauction,

Some quick subjectives from an amateur.

I think you have some great graphics for your brand, good navigation, etc. but overall I'm a little overwhelmed by the amount of widgets on the screen. I also feel a little bit like the promotion for the advertisers are as much or more than the billing your giving YOUR brand. For example the top header is fairly prominant and includes a large ad for AMR.

I'm just wondering if the Golf Auction logo should have more pop or priority on the page. You also have a testimonial buried at the bottom of some other advertisements, etc. Makes me wonder if the herbal remedies are more important than your reputation?

This is probably nitpicking, but I've noticed that when I jump to a site with too much advertising, I will sometimes back up and try the next guy with less. With so many bogus Adwords sites with no content, I'm getting a little leary of advert heavy sites and quickly jump back when I see Adwords prominent on a page.

I think just some rearrangement of layout would avoid that impression for you. Visually segregate promotion for advertisers from the promotion or identity of YOUR brand. Or, I might just be an odd duck and your right on target.

I'm looking for some feedback for a site I just created and posted the same day as yours. Any comments would be very helpful.

Cheers,

James

I agree with what James posted. There's too much going on, my eyes don't know where to look first. You have a nice graphic/logo for Golf Auction, so I would make it more prominant at the top. All the ads are distracting, I'd move them so your site's content comes first, then the reader comes across the ads.

golfauction,

Great graphics and I concur with the previous comments.

For a home page I find it very cluttered. The content's great but maybe not all on a home page?

www.golfauction.co.za seems relatively slow to load. Of course, you may be happy with that, although it may be easy to reduce the file size of some of the graphics plus perhaps move some to a subsequent page?

I think its great when subsequent pages have the same format style but those that do seem to have a wider left margin - is this deliberate?

Good luck.
