Default Would like your review of kathieandrobert.com

Hey guys, the 'ol rumblepup announcing two things.
My wedding and my wedding website.

The Wedding of Kathie and Robert

I'd really like a review of the look and feel, the usability.

My fiance and I are keeping on online blog/ article thing about our journey to the altar, as well as keeping a online place for family and friends to find the the latest info.

There is not a lot of content yet, but I wanted a quick look by the members to see if there are any design issues.

Thanx all!

Default Congratulations Kathie and Robert

May you be together in harmony forever.

Nice clean looking site, well he does do it for a living.

It loads a bit slow, I am on ISDN, not everyone is broadband!!.

All I can really say is clean up, condense the code and in some cases link the JavaScript.

If you send me and my missus the airfare and we'll even come to the wedding.

Congratulations!!

Keimos

I think the site looks pretty good. I wish the tan banner was a couple of px taller so there was some space between the letters and the end of the tan background but thats just me.

The site really loads slow and I have a T1 connection. As was mentioned, how about moving the java script into an external file? That would help. Also the html does not validate. In my experience, browsers seem to load validated pages better. If you cleaned up the code, it will help with the speed issue.

Overall though, I like the site. Congratulations on your engagement.

personal preference, i know, but i would space your navigation bar out like so:

Home | Our Wedding Guide | The Wedding Experience | Gift Registry | FAQ's | Contact Us

either that, or space your tds out a little more. as it is, the links are right on top of each other.

Default Thanks for the comments

I'm a little limited because of the CMS system I'm using. I've made some changes. The navigation is built for the addtion of drop downs, hence the use of link at the bottom.

That's an issue with Mozilla I haven't figured out in css. Try IE. You'll see the difference.

Just significantly increased the speed. Might want to check it again. Also changed some of the navigation around.

Best wishes to you both!

Just love the graphic of your names and the colour choice.

Negatives . .

The shade of green really detracts from your main colour. Maybe these:
#E6B873
#806640
#E6DCCF
#BF8630

I gather it is only early days, but some warm and fuzzy photos would be nice. A slide show of the two of you growing up, your relationship blossoming, and then the engagement would be great.
