Hi, this is just a hobby site of mine really, but it does get busy. I have recently rebuilt it from scratch and was hoping for some feedback..

I am happy to do the same for you if you ask

Thank you for your time

The copy is very good. On the Fishtail parka pages I would include a diagram illustrating what makes this parka different, and what makes the parka you sell of highest quality. On M1951/m1965 pages, good, large pictures of the parkas. Add subheadings to break up the text.

People generally want to see what they're buying. Check out J. Peterman.

People sometimes say don't use a lot of text. That's not entirely true. When you have no ability to keep the reader's attention -- go short. When you have no particular story or interesting information -- keep it short. You, on the other hand, are one of the rare few who have something to say about products. Just keep an eye on conversions to sales. Let the customer's action, not opinion, tell you what works.

Default Thank you

Hi,

Thank you very much. There is some keen observation and wise words there and it is much appreciated.

Yes I am in the process of building some new pages to give more info on the parkas with decent pics etc, and like you said, reasons why mine are good.

Right now it is still a little texty overall and I will be adding a little more colour and images without going overboard (i hope).

I know this is probably a question for another thread, but I get the feeling you might be able to shed some light. Any idea why google does not want to index this site. It has picked it up once, and liked it very much, dropped it the nexy day. Picked it up again today yet gave it no weight in its relevent keywords. Then dropped it again ??

I am at a loss to understand this. As in all fairness regarding this items there is no other site on the internet all about them.

Thanks once again

Kind Regards

kane

In your original post, I got the impression the original version was up for some time (perhaps a year or two).

What you need are incoming links. With relevant information you should pick them up fairly easily. Unlike most, your site would be ideal coverage for fashion, style mags. For this, however, it may be wise to go the extra mile, depending on the mag. For example, sending actual product for close inspection and review. Get creative, for example SCOTTeVest got reviewed in gadget magazines.

Default I like it

Yes the original site was there for a good year or two. It was a real ugly thrown together job done in my spare time. Funny enough, sales were mad as these are so rare...

I really like your ideas, thank you, and im gonna get to work on some inbound links, submitting some of the article I have wrote and yes, might even see about gettin noticed in the "fashion" circles. Great ideas, thanks a lot.

Also, do you think a site map would be a good idea, and whats your experience of knocking these together? never done one before..

Thanks once again, it is much appreciated.

This is coming from someone that knows nothing of your product so forgive me if I'm way off base.

The only text on the home page is unreadable (above the picture)

fishtailparkas.com

The text in the header is very boring. Would it take away from the site if the header was a little more exciting?

Maybe a couple pictures of your product and some text on the home page that made me want to read on.

The mod clothing page seems to be a bunch of links trying to get me to leave the site.

Your text is very good on this page.

But maybe a picture or two would help bring it out a little.

I don't like the logo but maybe it means something?

Are you selling something on the site?

Please bear with me as I try to understand your site.

Hello,

Many visitors would be thankful if your questions page said whether or not you ship internationally. If you're assuming that only locals would want that vintage mod style, don't.

And, yes, more pictures are needed.
