Default GameFouldWorld Site Review

Hey there,
I poked around a bit and here is the feedback I have to offer...

HomePage:
The explaination of your site's purpose on the homepage is good. It clearly indicates to users what you are all about and should help with SEO too, as keywords are included within the text.

I don't like that you have a big ad link to your own homepage, the same page I'm already on (under Looking for Something of Interest). It's confusing and tacky (sorry to be harsh). I'm assuming you do it so your site gets more attention then the big Google search bar next to it, but I think it's unnecessary.

I have to tell you that because of the dark color of your site, I didn't notice the scroll bar to the right and that there was more to the page until I accidently scrolled with my mouse - I didn't even intentionally do it. I was like "Whoa, there's more stuff here?" I prefer homepages that are shorter in length and simply allow access to other parts of the site. You have a ton of info below the fold. And then, to compensate for Google Advertising, have an entire addional scroll worth of page with no content but the advertising. I'm not a fan of this either.

Navigation:
It's great that you offer online chat, but it pushes your left navigation for your site down on the page. I'd consider flipping the two or moving chat somewhere else. I use 1280 x 1024 resolution, so I can see it, but it seems weird that it's so far down, doesn't seem to follow convention in my mind. And if a user doens't have a decent sized monitor like I do, at 1024 x 768 you can only see the "Home" and "Pultry World" links. So your nav isn't really serving it's purpose. Also, I konw you run both this site and Pultry World, but is Pultry World more important? That's the impression that I get since it is the top link on your navigation. I think its fine to have a persisting link to it, but it's not really "Navigation" for this site if it takes you somewhere else. I'd move it.

Secured Sections:
I noticed you have some secitons on your site that are restricted to logged in users. I like that - makes people want to register to get the inside info, plus I assume it achieve an objective for you in regards to gathering info. To enhance this I suggest adding some indicater to those sections (an icon or something) that they are restricted. Also, you have text on these pages that reads "You can register for free by clicking here, then you can
access this section without restrictions. Thanks." But there is no link actually there. I'd update that pronto. If you can, it would be nice to display that right nav login bar that you have on your other pages on these restricted pages so users don't even have to click to then login, but could simply login to the right and pull up that data.

I hope this helps!

Best,

Martink

Default your site

When your site first comes up it is a little overwhelming as far as the amount of content. Maybe try making the center table white (the one with your main menu). I think it would give people something for focus. Other than that it is very cool.

The site is a little overwhelming at first glance. The font style on the header is a little hard to read (too embellished). The site overall uses way too many font styles in your graphics and body text, which gives it a very cluttered feel.

As for your body text, I'd recommend left justify instead of center. It's too hard to read body text that is centered.
