Hey everyone! Im Shannon and a newbie to all this website stuff. My website is actually hosted with a company, but I would like for everyone to review it and tell me what you think.

http://www.shannonprince.com/

Its used for marketing real estate.

Do you like the overall format and color scheme.( I know I need my pic on there) Does it provide useful information for people moving to the area, home buyers sellers.

Pretty much look at anything and everything you want because any advice will be greatly appriciated.

Thank you for the time that you take to do this.

Shannon

Whoa! WAY too many words! I've been house hunting here in my area, and the sheer volume of text is overwhelming!

Just say something like "number one in customer satisfaction" or "I'll give you 110%" or "available 24/7 just for YOU".

Let your very attractive web site do it's job. You have every category I could think of on the left side to answer all of my questions. (I didn't go look there). Keep the rest much simpler and of course add a NICE, accurate photo of yourself.

Good luck!

Default Looks good

I would leave the last two paragraphs and delete everything before them.
Start with
I go the extra mile etc..
This sounds great: it's a promise, a company policy and a poem - all in one.

Hiya

the font needs changing to something easy to read.. for example verdana at size 10 or 11

your company address should be in the footer and not on the left side of the screen. You need to give people what they expect and not what You want them to do. majority of the sites has the site links on the left hand side.. so I would recommend, adding those important links on the left hand side box..

loads can be done on ur site.. I would suggest you make the changes and then let us know to check again:)
Good luck

Shannon,
The benefits of building your real estate site with a company such as you have chosen is that they provide a huge amount of value added content and the required time commitment and web building knowledge are much less than if you build it yourself.
The drawbacks are that all of that extra content is duplicated exactly on the hundreds (or thousands) of other sites they host, and you may end up with a site very similar (the content if not the look) to many others in your market.

Many agents don't care or have time to devote to building a site, but the fact that you're here says that you do care and have at least a little time to spend on it.

I'm not advising you to scrap the homes.com site and start over, but one thing you can do to stand out is to replace as many of their "canned" pages as possible with your own unique content. This doesn't have to be done all at once, just as you get time and inspiration.

Good luck,
CiCi
