Default New v. old fantasyfliers.com/nonframes vs fantasyfliers.com

my client turned down this new design (www.fantasyfliers.com/nonframes) in favor of her previous design (www.fantasyfliers.com)

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Default New Designer better...but...

Okay...so your new design is obviously better, the only issue is that the new design is sore on my eyes, menus are a little tough to read and slow on the rollover.

There are always folks who have no idea what their doing, and you won't be able to get that past them.

Don't think you're going to win the battle here.

Sorry.

do you think if i make the following changes:

1. change the initial menu text color to white (instead of black)
2. preload the onmouseover image

that it would solve the problem?

Default What I'd do

Well, I'd actually try and kill off all images for menus, and move to a css text menu, and it can be much cleaner, and much quicker. also, the backround color is very strong, pull that back and I think you'll have a great product.

Now...who knows...i'm not perfect, but I'm more about function, ease of use, quick loads, and results than I am about "who's got the best graphics".

Just the way I work.

i appreciate your advice but, i like having a small GIF background image that changes. it's only 2KB or so .. i'm not sure why it's not loading for you.

Default CSS background images

You can display a background gif behind a CSS menu.

Take a look at www.alistapart.com for some excellent tutorials on CSS menus.

Hope it helps

The old one looks like it was designed in word. The possible new one is initially richer.

BUT

I don't think teh new one was fully finished.
e.g. The promo element should zing out of the page as a promo, but its s run of [age scroll down, slightly bigger heading etc.
There are other similar issus. Its not yet a marketing site.
SO

New vs OLD, better
new Vs Professional , not yet.

Default No Frames

The new design is a lot better. you can tell the client the the no frames version is a lot more search engine friendly, and will probably lead to better search engine results.
