Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate.

Did you design these posters and Graphics yourself? If yes! then I am very impressed. I would say, when I first see the site, the over-all feel and impression is that the site designer is not a professional. Since you have this amazing Graphics work, why not show it on your main page, instead of just text? You can link back to the rest of the images through that. This would give a teasing effect on the visitor, to want to see MORE!!

I would also say, the over all yellow colour, is not really the type of colour a lot of people would like. tone it down, and get rid of the orange borders.

This is my advice:
- Make use of the dark orange in your text headings
- Get rid of the yellow backgrounds...
- Use the yellow/orange in the menu instead..

I would also recommend using verdana font size 10 in your website.. it gives a more professional look and
feel.

how do people go back to the main homepage? the only option i found was clicking on the site logo..right? there should be a link that says HOME.
- Instead of adding the link (email) - add it to the footer and change it to: contact us!

- your links for each page are floating in the air. I would put these category links in a border box, with dashed effect? or some nice yellow/orange background colour.

Finally.. in terms of optimisation,
are you targetting any keywords? if yes, what are they? there is no text on any of the pages.

thanks,
T

ps: your website design is not SEO friendly (try and put the CSS and scripts externally) + (make the menu into links, instead of drop down links - this will help you get rid of the scripting.)

Ok, No comment;) Read the sticky about posting your site. Your subject is confusing.

Maybe you should just post your "www" in the subject. Most reviewers dont have enough time to figure out where your coming from, let alone have a good look at your site.
I come to the assumption you dont want a review, but promote your site. If thats the case, hmm. If not maybe you could change the subject next time.

Are you looking for a review or no "comments"?

Las Vegas doesn't have clocks in casinos for one reason, they don't wont to remind people they are late for doing something else. Which reminds me, I was going to review your website but I saw the time on your homepage and realized I was going to be late for work. Just kidding ;-)

My biggest concern with the website is i'm not exactly sure what it is.

One one hand, it seems like a website showing off your talent and skills as a designer/artist. If your a designer/artist the goal of the website should be to attract customers who might be interested in buying your services, in return getting your name known. If this is the case, then why are their advertisements that take me to your competitors websites?

On the other hand, your site seems like an artists gallery of work. In which case ads are appropriate, but saying that you are an artist/designer looking for work is out of place.

You should make the decision, it either needs to be an artist gallery with links to other galleries or its a person trying to sell his services and you should be promoting yourself and not your competition.

On the down-side:
  • I hate the colours;
  • The links at the top are tacky, and very 'Publisher'-like;
  • I think your main text should come away from Times New Roman a little more;
  • The Date/Time feature is pointless, it looks more like you're trying to show off your basic scripting-skills, rather than being useful;
  • Before exploring them, I have no idea what the "Updates" links are all about;
  • I feel that the stars eliminate any professional entities in the site;
  • Your code isn't very neat, nor does it comply with any strict standards (hence the Transitional doctype I guess);
  • Unless I could instantly see that your site has some useful content, I would personally leave it very quickly.

On the up-side:
  • The site is simple in layout, and therefore easy to navigate round;
  • It loads considerably quickly;
  • Whilst I don't personally like the colours, they do not clash;

Mind you, I'm very fussy about websites. I'm sure some people love it.

Good luck.
Rob

Default The truth hurts lol

Thanks JuniorOnline for the great suggestions and comments. I will seriously have to think about a redesign. All the work on the site is my own, the magazine was done up in college using Quark. I have years of experience in photshop and photo paint so I find it very easy to work on professional graphics.

I think that if I do a redesign I would bring some of my work more to the fore as you said a teaser to wat else is there. This site is just my own personal site to share with my friends but also a portfolio site to show to some clients too.
