very nice site.. but I agree with emex - you definately need more and better keywords...
I found the following keywords in your meta tags:
"quality, gift, wedding, favors, craftsmanship">
I do not think anyone would use the words quality, wedding or favors as keywords... try using keyword phrases instead of just words... and try to think like your potential customer/visitor and use words that describe your products and use those keywords/phrases in the body of your text.

Good looking site, good luck.

Thank you both for looking at my new site.

I have a real problem with keyword distribution on my site because the market niches I serve are quite diverse. I cannot optimize the home page for all of them, or even the best sellers, so I concentrate optimization on the individual product pages. This always leaves the question about what to put on the home page, and I have choosen to put a general blurb on there concentrating on moving visitors into the shopping area of the site.

Is this a sensible approach?

Your approach with the keywords is very good... my comment was that you used words that I don't think people are going to key in to find your kind of site... as in: quality, favors, wedding...
it is always better to use phrases rather than single words... as in "wedding favors, quality (your product), etc.

You have a nice looking site. As far as key words go I would pick one or two for the home page and set the home page up for those two. move your title up to the top of the page and use your main key words there.

But nice looking site.
