| Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate. |

re: www.contactyourcpa.com submission
I few days ago I posted this in response to a sense of tremendous negativity that I received inbetween very positive feedback, true expertise and a real desire to provide constructive criticism. Here is a quote of what was presented: "About three days ago after receiving some very valuable direct feedback on my website I decided to follow the good advice of SnerdyWebs, Marcie and the Ausie ZPower Australia. It has been quite an experience. Sadly some have criticized the valuable asistance given as spam, if that is spam surely this site and the moderators should encourage it. Only good came out of it. My site went from one which with hindsight was "a mom and pop corner shop" as some of you called it to one with some additional work can look like a professional site. Let us not be so quick to judge and accuse people of being spammers before reading inputs given and the effort which goes into such inputs. Marcie I followed your advice and listened to Snerdy, he was amazing, tremendously helpful and a real expert at what he does. I purchased a template from snerdy.com and then the real hard work began. I can see Snerdy does this because his heart is in it at that is amazing. Snerdy if I ever have a client that needs assistance I will not hesitate. Today it is basically complete needing some finishing touches and some more expert criticism. Thanks all, it is amazing to be in an environment where one can get the experts to judge with valuable feedback. Some more direct criticism will be appreciated. Thanks, Dion" Peter unfortunately you again responded to in a negative sense. It is sad that there are always individuals that would prefer to negatively sell other people in the hope of empowering themselves through such action. So what if we work off templates, templates are designed to make things more efficient and surely efficiency is something we all try to achieve, it is one reason why the internet is so popular. Paul, rather than labelling feedback as spam, which it clearly is not, and filling pages with negativity try to be more constructive. Everybody is different, we all learn from each other. To have sites like webproworld where we can all come together and exchange ideas is amazing, the promoters of this site do amazing things. Try to participate in a positive process rather than sitting around trying to police a creative society and criticize the promoters for not policing, creativity dies when you try to force dogmatic ideas on people, this is a very successful site, do you have better? Paul take care and see both the good and bad, not only one side! Dion |

Hi Dion,
Thanks for the advice. It all rather depends what you understand spam to be. I have two links in my signature. I have never ever suggested that anyone posting here should solve their problems by going and buying from these links. Why? Because I regard that as spamming. Also it is clear that some people regard this forum as not a place to 'submit your site for review' but rather 'teach me how to build a site from scratch with no previous knowledge' and on occassions 'tell me how to make a fortune with my website'. Maybe we need yet another forum to cover these topics and so leave this one for reviews of completed sites. I enjoy helping people improve their sites - and I mean sites, not a single content-less page (as was recently posted here) or tuning a template from templatemonster.com - unless a mod would like to correct me. I wish you all success with your site, but you won't find me soft-soaping posters here with 'Yeh, great site - love it' comments which help nobody. I prefer honesty...

Paul if you read some of my 1st post there was certainly no soap la di dah stuff there. In fact I felt quite guilty about putting so much crap on Dion's site. But i think Dion like me is new to all this web site stuff. I can understand that Pros like yourself may feel a bit insulted about having a "Monster Template" type site listed for review.
In the beginning Dion had put up his site "For review" It looked terrible. It was reviewed. It now looks great. I can't see that we did anything differant to what the reviewing advice says to do at the beginning which is Let's face it, not everyone's a professional, but the beauty of this is -- you don't have to be. The people asking for site reviews care about your opinions. Whether you're a seasoned web design pro, a real newbie, or just someone who surfs a lot, you're a visitor to someone's website and your opinion counts for something. Let folks know what you think. You may think you're commenting on something silly, but it may make a big difference to the designer, particularly where business/commercial sites are concerned. Regards Alan
