Default Peachtree 2000 Software

We were using MAS 90 for our accounting softward prior to 2000. When the Y2K concerns arose, we could not afford to upgrade our MAS 90 because our network was DOS based and we were not in a position to upgrade to the Windows based MAS 90. Best Software offered Peachtree 2000 as a middle of the road alternative. It was a DOS based program.

The operating system was loaded on individual P.C.'s with the data being stored on the server. Each P.C has failed and we have lost the operating system. Best stopped supporting the software in 2003 because of all of the problems with it. We cannot locate the original discs, but it would not make much difference since we had used all of our licenses and they are no longer available from Best.

We need a way to retrieve our 2004 data. Our IT consultant suggested we try to find someone who still has the system with a license available so we can install it and recover the data.

We are looking for someone who is no longer using the Peachtree 2000 software and has a license available. We have not been successful in a local search as the software was not popular. So I am using this forum to expand our search.

We are also open to any other ideas to recover the data.

Thank you.

What about another accounting program that would import the Peachtree 2000 data? If you ask the manufacturers (e.g. Quicken, AccPac, etc.) I'm sure someone's got something for this.

Failing that, depending on how the file is stored, it may be readable by a database program (e.g. Access). Have you tried opening up the datafile in a database program to see what would happen?
