Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? Default www.thebabymarketplace.com

I am looking forward to your comments.

My keywords for the site are: baby toys, baby gifts, cloth diapers. They are the big sellers. Back in the good ole days! I ranked quite high 5+ for these main words now ... well, I am working on it.

With less traffic I am looking to convert more visits to sales.

Any ideas??

Thank You!

Default Hiya

The site looks great! I wouldn't change anything in the layout. Looking at the code...

<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0"> <-- kill it.

The description tag should be more to the point. the search engine grabs a small excerpt that your site relies on to get people to click the link. Same with the description tag. We're having a paypal talk here http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=11670 if you want to contribute your feelings.

Default Thank ... m/

Thanks ... why get rid of the Meta Tag above?

I am having trouble making the HomePage Description more concise and still be able to get in all of the key products.

It is extremely hard to Rank for multiple products with one description ... on a budget :)

Default .

It's fine that you make it long I guess, just put a description of your site that wouldn't overwhelm your grandma and could be grasped by the attention span of a toddler in the first part of the description. Well, that's how I always think of it anyways. You may have to compromise with less keywords and more focus. Expirement with what works better. The only problem is that with no budget it doesn't give you results to analyze quickly. The greatest cost will be time.

#6. Constructive criticism is desired -- abuse isn't. Don't just make negative statements! Try to say something nice when you post a review.

I see another review with the same words used. Your range of words is a lot. Your site is full of swearing is this all you learn at school.
What is a table and what is wrong with them? Cheers Lee

I was thinkning of posting the same for every post, but I got bored with my clipboard doing all the hard work.

I actually think that the logo is quite wicked. Good work with the images.

dancedevils... look to see any of the major sites and search engines what their source code looks like and what they use for aligniation. I'll save my stupidity and ego insults and just laugh at the statement. Heck, just view the source for this page. CSS doesn't offer the best in compatibility and for someone using frontpage express(if you had read the other posts) it's not much of an option.

Default Good site

And as a father of two small one's (second born December) I think my view is honest as someone who would want to shop!

Using the fabled '3 out of three' search engine hit (link between description, keywords and content of the page) I'd widen your search words; because there is a lot on that front page that goes un-sung.

For instance, I'd start keywords with, 'baby, market, place, toys, clothes, babies, toddlers, skin, care, towels, feeding, accessories, gifts, diapers, bargains, bath, nursery, new, arrivals, shoes, cotton, wool, fleece, bumkins'.

That lot should answer a few search queries. Take this as a positive addition rather than any criticism; I liked the site.

Default I dunno

If you widen the keyword range you lose keyword density. If you can grab a top spot just a few search terms it's better than grabbing a low spot for a variety.

Default Thanks Elite Skills and Andy_Mitch

This is really the big question ??

Broad or concise ... ??

So hard to play around and test the site. When the site pays the mortgage for myself and several employees.

I just want Yahoo to switch to Inktomi so I can be in the top 10 again for my keywords :)

I appreciate both of your input and I have lots to think about!

Default Sorry

There is no definitive answer. It is totally dependent on several combinations of variables such as: how much competition, repetitions of keywords, keyword density, keyword frequency, content relavance, how many sites link to you, their Page rank, what keywords they link you with, and how old your site is just to name a few. I think if you can focus on some keywords successfully you are far better off than focusing on several but it's generally the older and well established sites that can grab a higher focus. It's up to you to test and play. The real answer is "take risks and figure it out". I can only help you understand how it works so you can make educated decisions. Making mistakes won't hurt you any(other than your wallet, but call it an investment in wisdom).

Default alt and title tags

Are the alt and title tags added to the page effective for keyword ranking?

Thanks
