Default New host and new site

I'd love some feedback on my new site design that has finally gone live on its new hosting server.

This site has plenty of great content, but there are several things that I think you should consider. First and foremost, with a business that is at all web-related (like yours), most potential clients expect a great deal from your web site. It's like you have a little more to live up to.
Several of your main pages are little more than a list of links. This makes sense as a way to access the vast amount of content, but is there any way you could at least add a few small pictures or graphics to liven things up a bit. Also, it would be great if you could add anchors on some of the longer pages. This would work particularly well to reduce the scrolling on your Portfolio and Articles pages.
It would be a REALLY good idea if your off-site links opened in a new window so that you're not sending away potential clients who can only return by their back button. Also, a line or two of text would go a long way toward explaining the categories on the Portfolio page. I would even go so far as to suggest that for the SEO category, you list the site title and then the results such as:
"Blue Dolphin Magazines is #4 in Google for "magazine superstore" (out of 3,730,000 results)."
This would break up the "page of links" effect AND make the reason for the list more obvious.
One more idea, although I'm not sure how you'll feel about this one. My husband and a friend had a home repair business, and I created a site for them. When I asked family and friends for feedback, one of the things they noted was that perhaps I should not make it so obvious that the "company" consisted of just the two of them, as that might scare off potential clients. You might want to rethink your About page for this reason. It would also help if you could "@virtualcontractor" email, even if you just forward it your personal inbox, rather than using gmail, yahoo, etc. addresses on the site.
Please bear in mind that all of this is just one opinion, and, with all that said, you still have content that is useful and interesting. The navigation is pretty straight-forward. Just make sure folks can always get back to your "money pages" - contact, etc. You don't want to send them off somewhere else interesting before they get around to contacting you!
Sorry for the long post!!
Best of luck,
CiCi
